We all know Britney(or her team) wanted to work with Iggy way before Vegas happened but I think the collab should have been canceled/delayed after Iggy won a bad reputation for racist & homophobic tweets...

  1. GP didn't support it because they had already heard it under the name "Fancy" :wowidc:

  2. PG is so damn lame compared to Britney's previous first singles. Production-wise, vocally, in every aspect tbh :yaknow:

This feels like OLL, she released it as a single but she's not even talking about her new album, and when asked about it, she just says she's working slowly on it.

Because making a duet with a trendy artist is something Madonna would do to keep her relevancy; now that Britney's done it, it's so obvious her own team feels like Britney's time has passed.

The list goes on :paper: You get my point.

Yeah, those are some other good points to why the song didn't work.

The hate for Iggy has been on a whole other level, and she can't seem to catch a break, but all things considering the song has managed to be a moderate hit.  (The views for the music video have been pretty impressive for a "flop.")  Unfortunately for Britney & Iggy they aren't considered "cool" artists to like so they were already fighting a loosing battle. "Pretty Girls" received really good reviews from professional critics, so the song wasn't the primary issue.  But I'm happy with this collab, it's serves as my summer bop regardless of where it placed on the charts.

that's the worst attempt at blaming the failure of pretty girls (IMO it didnt even fail as a single) iggy is still queen and noone is perfect ....except u dont get ur entire life recorded 24/7 but some of them out there do.. just saying

Facts...Britney cannot have a song like Get Naked, Toxic, MATM, Breathe on Me, Gimme More and her team expect Pretty Girls to be this amazingly flourishing song, with one of the most hated on "rappers" of this generation (in Brit's defense she's been wanting to work with iggy when she was actually liked, but Pretty Girls was created when things were getting bad for Iggy). her team needs to be fuckin checked like NOW

I mean...  Nicki Minaj's "The Night is Still Young" is smashing on top40, a song so basic it's almost insulting.  No one is going to convince me that song is superior to "Pretty Girls" in any shape or form.  I like Nicki and The PrinkPrint but that song is beyond lame, dated, and the worst off her album.  I also dislike how PG is deemed "too girly/gay" to be embraced when there isn't anything gender-neutral about Nicki's song either.   Since she's a "cool" artist she can get away with releasing this stale, lukewarm shit from '11.   :icantt:
