Jonte Posted June 12, 2015 #1 Report Posted June 12, 2015 She needs to stop with all the sexy songs for just a few seconds and sing about something more "personal"... Dont get me wrong... But it's been like this for 90% of her career. She needs to get into peoples hearts and minds with a more deep song lyricly. Im not saying she needs to go all Adele or something. But you know... Something empowering to everyone, not just a "girl anthem" or "for the gays"... Something for everyone that anyone could releate to and love!! These are just 2 songs that are like this... Okey, they are girly and kind of gayish... But that could be Britneys new goal... To make an anthem for the entire planet! She could sing about like how everyone is different but yet we are the same, cause everyone have secrets or that everyone are afraid to be lonley... I dont know, I don't get paid to write music... But this is what I think she needs to do so she could get another SMASH hit! 3

Ariana Grande Posted June 13, 2015 #4 Report Posted June 13, 2015 I couldn't agree more Artsy-Fartsy is really cool and stuff, but she needs to record songs with an actual deep meaning like Shadow, Hold On Tight, Out From Under, Unusual You, DLMBTLTK while still releasing songs such as 3, HIAM, Circus, Toxic, etc. We need the best of both worlds from her and not just party songs like Ke$ha 6

Hopefully we'll have at least one or two in the future. #fingerscrossed I'm sure she has lots of material especially about her life that could be translated into really beautiful/personal songs. Her voice suits that type of sound really well. Do you remember Red is the Color? Imagine her voice on that one... And yes! She really needs to reinvent herself.But for all those changes, I think she truly needs a new label, manager & team and work with fresh & new producers. She should go to places like Sweden & UK and meet new and young producers that have something fresh & unique to offer to the music industry.Mainstream pop stars aren't having their best time right now. People got tired of the same old shitty catchy songs without soul, sounding same like other 20 songs & mostly about sex & party. 4

Most of her previously unreleased material is far more mature, progressive, and vocally impressive then most of the material that ends up on her albums. "Red is The Color" would have fit perfectly alongside SL, I enjoyed the demo very much. "Everyday" is a nice reminder of what she is capable of when she is not singing in her girlish soprano and lyrically it touches on the dark period of her life without feeling sappy. The one song I've been going back to on Britney Jean is "Passenger." I don't know where you fall on the Myah Marie issue (that vocal is 100% her on lead, I strongly feel) but with that aside, that song is a general direction I wouldn't mind her music taking.

I think Britney would gave been able to talk about it's meaning a lot more than she could with Work Bitch. Which wasn't a Gay anthem but a tribute to hard work and going hard for your dreams even when nobody else believes in you. It's universal and could be personal if Britney could have talked about the hard work and naysayers. There's this truly personal and fragile side of her that we haven't seen yet. Those kind of songs that we're talking about now never got the chance to be singles. She has a lot of potential. I was obssesed with this show. I've watched like ALL the episodes and I loved Miley back then. The best character for me was her "big" brother. LOL

But now she's kind of getting back on the top of the game and she thinks (I believe) that, for now, it's better to release a couple of "fun and catchy" pop songs. I still think she has a lot to offer to us, lyrically and musically and we have to support all of her songs, because otherwise we're not worthy of the meaningful ones. Besides Britney is still young enough to write songs and everything, we shouldn't worry that much. I mean she did release "Perfume" not so long time ago, which is a personal song, in my opinion.
