Britney Spears may or may not have thrown some serious shade at â€œPretty Girls†collaborator Iggy Azalea.

After Iggy voiced her opinion as to why she thought their single didn’t do as well on the charts — “It’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc†— Britney took to Twitter to send what appears to be a subtle dig at the “Fancy†rapper.

Britney tweeted that she couldn’t wait to get back to her Las Vegas residency and added, “So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to… #YouWantAPieceOfMe.â€

Though she never mentions Iggy’s name, it’s kind of ironic she tweeted that especially since Iggy recently cancelled her Great Escape tour.
Iggy, who performed the song one time with the pop star at the Billboard Music Awards, has yet to respond to Brit’s tweet, but she definitely had a lot to say on Twitter regarding their single together, saying that she would have “enjoyed†performing the song a lot more.

Britney’s fans instantly defended their girl, accusing Iggy of doing some shading of her own, which prompted the rapper to say that she doesn’t need to “suck the womans a–hole 24/7 to be her friend†and that friends just sometimes have different opinions.

Iggy, who took offense to some reports saying they twisted the meaning of her tweets, then assured fans that she and Britney are â€œgood friends†(I mean, they do have lunch dates) and that she loves the song, so “why be angry?â€

Britney's tweet has nothing to to with iggy

It's just the Media pitting one one female music star against another. That's what's offensive, if anything, about this.

Everything iggy said was true. It wasn't shade. It wasn't rude, it wasnt offensive.

People are just always looking for something to react to.

You choose what offends you and if you wanna live a life constantly being offended by everything, that will be a sad negative life.

Brit was just tweeting how she's excited to get back to the show that's it don't look too deep into it

Nah, Britney usually tweets the night, or days, before her return to Vegas not two months.  Britney's tweet is what actual shade looks like:  it's not an outright diss, it's subtle and goes right for the jugular.  Mission accomplished.   What Iggy said was true to an extent but she is ignoring a slew of other reasons why "Pretty Girls" didn't take off.  One of the factors was Iggy herself as we're witnessing is not well liked at all, the song was musically derivative of "Fancy," was deemed being subpar by the majority of fans, and radio wanted nothing to do with the track along with it getting the worst callout sheets Britney has ever received.  "Just more promo" (would have been nice) wasn't going to help a single that was DOA, I like the song/video/performance and still bop to it but Iggy should have kept her mouth shut.  Once again she has put herself in a position where she isn't getting much sympathy and with one swift tweet, it's not from Britney either.   :idgaf:
