The choreo has been used and executed one million times by all types of users in youtube, the music video has over 100 million views, the performance in the POM show slays and it's already an anthem among the fans. Perfume has the best vocals from Britney post breakdown... Alien is just outta this world in every single way... Passenger has amazing music and lyrics, has some raw Britney vocals and Britney has never recorded in her life anything similar... Don't cry has this captivating whistle which makes it immediately stand out and raw Britney vocals... Hold on tight is considered by the fans one of her best ballads ever... Brightest morning star is Dr Luke all the way and it's obvious because it's actually perfect and unique in a way that only Dr Luke can deliver a song... Now that I found you has perhaps the most awesome instrumental from every track in the album and the lyrics... And of course there are generic fillers... My question is... If there was no glitch in alien, no Myah Marie or Sia appearing in the tracks overshadowing Britney's amazing vocals and generally no production flaws, would you still consider Britney Jean a bad album??? 2

The answer is no. The main problem with BJ is the production (specially the vocals) because all the songs have a lot of potential. If they had done a better job the album would actually be one of my favourites. I still like it tho, but all the drama around it, specially Myah's vocals, don't let me enjoy it to its fullest. I still think that Alien is one of the best songs she's recorded, it's a masterpiece 2

Don't cry, hold on tight and brightest morning star are literally flaw free and the rest of the songs you listed are the strongest from the album. I wouldn't be mad if she continued in this direction, just with better production 1

So of course it would be a better album if there wouldn't all those reasons that are making it a bad album... lol. It's just the vocal production, editing and bits of the remix feel of some Of the songs that need a cleaning. And I would also rearrange the track order. I don't even mind the Alien Glitch I would just think it was a choice if it was in the original leak.

The day it leaked I listened to it and couldn't believe that it's a new Britney Spears record, it was so hard for me to enjoy any song because they all sounded like unfinished demos and some tracks like a total shit (Body Ache, It Should Be Easy, Chillin' With You). Hopefully next record won't be so disappointing....

But there are a couple good songs on it that are indeed underrated because of the whole idea of the album, like Alien, Passenger, Hold on Tite, Don't Cry or NTIFY. Even Tik Tik Boom is a much better urban track than Pretty Girls. And you can't deny Work B**ch is an iconic single, despite its lack of melody and not-so-radio-friendly sound. Unfortunately, either will.i.am, Anthony Preston or Myah ruin pretty much the rest of the tracks. The result is rushed as f*ck, even though they had plenty of time to record a good album. 1

Those problems that I mentioned (glitch, production etc) are facts and nobody can deny them but they are not necessarily the only reason that Britney Jean is hated. People may not like the direction of the album, its theme or lack of theme, the sound etc...

When I first heard it on the 24 hours streaming on itunes I was majorly dissapointed Britney didnt even get her way for Britney Jean either tbqh , did u not hear about the producers that were gonna be on that album . Danja , hit boy , sean garrette... And William scrapped them all! So imo Britney wasnt feeling it either , Im sure she loved alien tho And did u just say "best vocals post breakdown" are u kidding me ?? She had the best vocals during blackout and circus era !!! When she came back for the FF era her vocals turned into shit & autotuned to the max

The only ones that even feel close to being a "Britney" song are Don't Cry, Alien, and maybe Hold on Tight and Perfume (and those are essentially the only songs I listen to from this record. WB is a fantastic gym playlist song, but it's grating to listen to on its own). there would have to be major renovations not only in not production, but also to the song structures themselves (the fact they'd cut out bridges and entire fucking verses is unacceptable to me). just my opinion tho

Yeah but then it's just about taste ya know.. i don't really like In The Zone for example, but it doesn't make it a bad album, i can't deny that in terms of quality it's very great. Whatever if we like the direction or not etc.., Britney Jean would have been, not especially good, but at least a decent album if it had better production (vocal and instrumental). Because the main problem is (besides Myah's intrusion) it's like a demo album, unfinished or i don't know.

jkassover Posted July 3, 2015 #25 Report Posted July 3, 2015 I somewhat agree britney Jean is underrated how ever its also the production isn't that great Alien is the most personal song on the album Perfume is the best/only ballad released as a single since Everytime Tik tik boom great club song Don't cry is a great uptempo ballad The rest of the songs to me are good but really generic and bland and not her best work And I really HATE HAYE HATE it should be easy
