BlackoutEgo Posted July 2, 2015 #1 Report Posted July 2, 2015 This has been on my mind alot and I just wanted to get it out Since 2011 what made the producers use the autotune on Britney to full capacity ? Her albums from 99 all the way to 2008 sound very normal & natural (maybe a hint of autotune but thats it) I just dont get it because Britneys voice during Circus era was beyond angelic and all of the sudden Femme fatale era comes and its like what happened ? The same for Britney Jean & Pretty Girls Like did she really comeback sounding that bad that they had to go full out with autotune. I just dont get how a persons voice can change in just 2 short years Btw Im not shading , I just want to know your thoughts
James Posted July 2, 2015 #2 Report Posted July 2, 2015 They tried to introduce her NEW sound, which in many ways, not working. But WTF, Pretty Girls is more raw than anything before 2007 1

heather Posted July 2, 2015 #6 Report Posted July 2, 2015 There's not a lot of vocal editing though, in the big picture. It's present on a few songs here and there, and it's probably because Britney prefers it that way. I mean Moroder said himself Britney preferred the vocal editing he did to Tom's diner
BlackoutEgo Posted July 2, 2015 Author #7 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Perfume says HELLOAnd I say goodbye

Her natural voice is so beautiful and I absolutely believe she doesn't have a lot of confidence in that. Tbh she never really has either, always commenting about how much better her peers voices are than her own. Which is a shame because I prefer her voice to xtinas any day

Theres even a video of people in the audience making faces when she was trying to make high notes

Caroline77 Posted July 2, 2015 #19 Report Posted July 2, 2015 Actually as much as i love Circus, her voice is also pitched on like half of the album tbh. And i don't know if it's because she sings nasally but her voice kinda sounds synthetic as well sometimes, like If you seek amy (that's why i never liked that song), her voice is annoying. But when you listen to Blur for example, then songs like Kill the Lights, If U Seek Amy, Lace and Leather ... you hear the difference. What i'm more concerned about is how they managed to make her voice sound less and less like her voice. I mean, sure there is Myah on some tracks but still.. there are moments when i'm having hard times to recognize Britney tbh.

Oh for sure circus had autotune , Im just saying not as much as how they are doing it now in days like 2011 and on ..I get what youre saying tho because like for example "perfume" it doesnt sound like her at all , I know for sure she sang it but her vocals were never like that .. Like she sounds alright but once she gets to the chorus I cringe a bit. Maybe the cigarrettes are the cause of it ? Idk
gimmework Posted July 2, 2015 #21 Report Posted July 2, 2015 I honestly just think it's bc it's been a trend in the industry! All artists are auto tuned.. even power vocalist like Ariana and Demi are auto tuned.. Also I think this has been going on since GodOut which is AMAZING but is also heavily auto tuned. I agree that it get's really awful in certain circumstances (Looking at you "It Should Be Easy") but for the most part I like the way it's used in songs.

Of course alot of artists use it , but they dont fully take advantage of it like Britney does and she uses it to the maximum I think its good for u that u like it , but I just miss her using her natural voice

BlackoutEgo Posted July 2, 2015 Author #24 Report Posted July 2, 2015 you joking pretty girls is afully bad pc enhancedPG is not bad at all (definitely not single worthy) , I just detect some melodyne going on there and I feel that its an easy enough song for her to use her natural voice on. The song is definitely not bad tho, the music that is being played on the radio is shit compared to Pg
