I don't know why everybody is so obsessed to see an urban album from Britney.

What would be an urban album? A Rihanna or Beyonce type of album? I'm not here for that tbh...

If Blackout is considered urban then she has already done that and she shouldn't go back again.

I noticed that many people want a darker album from Britney. Others want it to be more sexualised and some others want mature and deep lyrics.

I want a pop album with a darker sound that has both sexualised and mature songs because provocative, well written lyrics (e.g. touch of my hand) would give an edge to the album and make it even more interesting. They would also represent Britney very well!!

In an ideal album I would want to see songs like:

Phonography

Tom's diner

Breathe on me

Touch of my hand

Trip to your heart

Heaven on earth

Unusual you

Break the ice

Get naked

Criminal

Alien

Then some bonus tracks with covers and remakes of classic songs.

Sweet dreams

Frozen (Madonna)

Red blooded woman (Kylie Minogue)

Japanese bonus track: Smells like teen spirit (Nirvana) (Imagine a remastered dark Britney version of this)

Some of them might not seem like they have the same sound but they are all a little bit dark and edgy and with the right instrumentals (Tom's diner or alien) the album WOULD SLAY EVERYONE'S PETTY EXISTENCE...

Generally the tracks would have a clear melody, bridges and sick dance elements like phonography and Tom's diner. I'm not here for an album full of boring ballads.

The album would have 3 or 4 singles and music videos. They would follow a unique storyline according to the lyrics which would be shown in the music videos (like a trilogy). Not long music videos like Gaga (god I hate those), 4 minutes each one of them. NO BORING STORYLINES WITH BOYFRIENDS...

The rest of the album songs would depict an animated Britney with less important segments of the storyline which would be released after each music video. This way every album track would have its spotlight.

What's your vision of a Britney album??

I really don't want urban, i don't know why people are obsessed with that either, she's not Beyonce or something :drown:

Anyway, i would like her to go back to real pop music, and maybe some songs like You Oughta Know mixed with pop, or something a little more folk/jazzy for some ballads, or simple piano ballads like Everytime. She should work with Guy Sigsworth again actually he produced the best ballads, everytime, someday, out from under, my baby (i know most of y'all hate that song but i think it's really beautiful).

And natural vocals please.

And mature lyrics, don't have to be really deep but not things like "i'm trying to be cool" or "it should be easy it shouldn't be complicated" , lyrics that would be well written.

I want Max Martin.

...Baby One More Time

(You Drive Me) Crazy

Oops!... I Did It Again

Stronger

What U See (Is What U Get)

You know, that kind of songs, and perhaps something more aggressive, like Lonely, What It's Like to Be Me.

I honestly expect to hear a new kind of sound for the music, about the lyrics I really don't care, but I wish we had at least one song with that Max Martin structure: verse, bridge, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus, this kind of big pause before the climax of the song with some lyrics, or just music, a slightly different chorus with a long note, and the chorus 2 more times. If that make any sense :lolll:

I don't know but those are the little things that bug me, like PG and WB that both start with the chorus instead of the verses. Or that with her latest songs we rarely get those "slightly different choruses" that used to appear in Max Martin's songs before the end. Alien had the potential to be the perfect "Britney song" but it misses these little things and make them sound really plain, like there's never this change in her voice or the lyrics that gives it that excitement to the song. The same with Perfume.

I forgot how much I loved phonography haha! ;)

Also I feel there are two options Britney will take, A- Do a pop standard pop album (Hopefully 90s/00s) or B- Do something completely different to what we all want/think....I guess we'll have to wait and see. <3

I wish she is going to go for a much more mature sound/direction of the album. Not because she's 33, but because a little more mature style fits her better! Even at the beginning of her career she had songs in both styles, innocent and sweet or sexy and mature. I want both to be on the album, but a little less of sweet and a little more of sexy or mature (I don't want every song to be sexy/seductive, but I want every song to have meaning, to be a little bit more mature). She isn't partying that much in these days so I guess we won't have songs like on the album "Blackout", but we still would have dance songs to makes us move, because Brit is always been a dancer.
I want her on the album! Her style and not her producers style, she has to have control over her album, otherwise we won't get what we want!

My opinion. :)

Exactly what I would like to hear. Let's bring late 90's and early 00's back!

I want her to do a rock album, I mean FF was supposed to have a rock sound since IWG was originally a rock song. That's something she hasn't dabbled in and I don't want her to play it safe. She is already an established artist, she doesn't need to prove anything so why not go all out and take big risk?

Urban, it's pop with a little credibility, she always says that's what she wants to do, i'd think she adds her Britney magic to it, there's more you can do with urban than you think, you can have the classier stuff like en vouge or Janelle Monae, more acoustic like India Arie's video (which she loves herself), obviously the sexy stuff like slave and perfect love, she can even go darker like Rebellion, hip hop RnB. She'd have to add a couple pop stuff to please the people that don't do urban at all but that's what I'd like.

So far 90s/20s pop and dance pop are in the first place with 5 votes each. It makes sense because Britney is known for this music.

I thought acoustic would have a few votes though. I've seen a couple of posts in the past wanting Britney to do an acoustic album...

What about heavy metal meets pop?? Come on, that would be soooo interesting (if done correctly)!!!

I kinda like overprotected... :britdrown:

edit:

If done correctly we could have something OUTTA THIS WORLD like the following cover...
