of course, it's not like I don't stan for any other flop songs that everyone hates   Anticipating, Brave New Girl or Don't Keep Me Waiting say hi

 

Circus became my favorite album only because I adored this album's production (not the vocal production tho, it's a kind of a mess tbh ), so if it was on any other album - I would probably like it too, it doesn't really matter. I don't love every song from Circus, for example I dislike almost everyone's favorite track - Shattered Glass Quicksand sucks as well. overall, I must admint it's not her best album, every song sound like from another planet and I understand why people have a love/hate relationship with this one but I loved most of the tracks since they leaked and all of them have a very nostalgic character to me

 

My Baby speaking of lyrics is kinda cheesy, but I truly liked that simple guitar string play on this one, it sounds good with her beautiful raw vocals. it's not her best ballad, but defenitely not the worst. I'm usually a big fan of tracks produced by Guy Sigsworth, maybe that's also why I lke it.

OMG I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOREVS AND PEOPLE ARE LIKE "WHAT? HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT. THAT'S SO WRONG" AND NOW THE DEFINITIVE VOICE ON CIRCUS, CIRCUS HIMSELF, HAS DECREED IT (but honestly, the vocal production is what keeps me from really embracing it. Like I've said before, we all know This Kiss was an attempt to give Britters artificial vibrato, and when that lil diddlybop totally failed, they went in the opposite direction and smoothed literally everything and here we are).

 

However, the instrumental production and arrangements are all really good, and solid hooks all around!

Yeah Shattered Glass is a bit too short and incomplete for me to totally stan and latch onto, and Quicksand yeahhhh but for some reason, I totally get the nostalgia factor, even though I don't have that same feeling with, say, Blackout. Weird

 

and yeah I love the simplicity of My Baby. I don't listen to it often though, but it's always a nice surprise when i do
