Without meaning to sound negative, what the fans want has never been the main priority to Britney's team, it's all about negotiations and deals, it's the business world! If they (or Britney) don't want a Superbowl performance then it's not gonna happen because 20 people sign online.

But I really don't understand why people worries so much about what the GP will say. No matter if she makes the perfect performance, there always gonna be lovers and haters. People act as if this was 2007 or 2011. She's gotten better since the POM residency started, and I think she's at the perfect moment today to make that kind of performance, and she still would have half a year to prepare specifically for the Super Bowl (in the remote, miraculous, unlikely case that she performs there).

I think she can actually pull it off. Here's why:

 

1. Madonna lipped the whole thing and no one bothered because she used pre-recorded vocals and danced like a pro. All Britney needs is a couple hot dance-breaks and getting her attitude on fire.

2. Katy did a really plain show last year, and the GP didn't ask for her head or bash her. They just mocked the sharks.

3. She actually has lots of hits and classics everyone knows. I think the GP, even the haters, would definitely enjoy a Britney halftime show.

4. Taylor is more popular now, but there's no way she would put on a better show than Brit.

Actually, I think she's stated in the past that she prefers to perform in front of a big crowd rather than a small audience, like a theater. I'm not saying she's doing it, seriously, that would be too good to be true, but what I don't like it's people saying she's not capable of pulling a good show nowadays as if her latest POM shows had been 2007ney quality or as if the last Super Bowl shows were that good.

 

The only entertaining one that I remember was Madonna's. Beyoncé's had the potential to be great, but she chose like the most boring songs ever. The same with Bruno Mars (which I get is a different kind of show) and Katy Perry who performed her most boring songs as well, and gave half of the performance to Missy Elliot in the weirdest combination possible.

 

There's no way Britney could go wrong, any song from her catalog would be fun and entertaining. She doesn't need any special guest. She could just basically pick 4 or 5 shortened versions of the numbers from her POM show and translate them into the Super Bowl stage. I would be totally pleased with a BBMA or POM kind of performance.

They could just play a megamix of her hits on a big screen and that alone would be more entertaining to watch and listen to than this and last year's shows combined. 

 

And it's precisely because GP isn't expecting a 2001 kind of performance anymore, after 2007 mess (and since the BBMA didn't get that much attention, and they don't even like PG in the first place), that they would be slayed to see a performance like Break the Ice from POM, or the BOMT/OIDIA mashup. The Work Bitch performance alone is full of energy, even if it's the most horrendous choreo ever. She's improved so much since 2013 when Vegas started, and she keeps getting better. In half a year she'll get even better. And yeah, even then she won't have the Primeney level, but it would be enough to deliver a good show. 

 

And a very important fact is that GP loves comebacks. And Britney Spears is the queen of comebacks, because since 2007 it's like GP can't remember anything that she does for more than a week or something, so every new appearance is the ultimate comeback. There's thousands, or even millions of people that literally believe she's still bald and out of her mind. So they won't see this performance from a negative view, but all the opposite, they would look at it a thousand times better than what it really is. 

 

We won't have Primeney again, but seriously I don't think she'll get better than what she is nowadays, as a performer, and we don't know for sure for how long the residency will exist, but after that she's probably taking a long break and then, for more comebacks that she has, it will definitely won't be the same. And I think this level that she has today is enough to deliver a great show. PG might have been boring, because yeah she was just walking in the takes we got to see, but we didn't even get to see the full choreo, so I don't know what are you judging, but you could see the expressions in her face were full of energy and enthusiasm and that's what makes a performance especial. But in any case, it's not like she will be performing only Pretty Girls, her POM setlist is full of hits that are a million times better than PG. 

 

And even in the remooooote case that she performs, and that it sucks, then what? There's people who love GM performance from 2007!!! for god sake It won't be the end of the world, and it won't be the end of her career, and it will be especial performance to remember for many of us. And GP will forget about it in a couple of weeks, if it's good, if it's bad, if it's meh. (And I'm TOOOTALLYYY sure that it can't be as bad as 2007)

Well actually Madonnas show was EVERYTHING to begin with.... 

 

Beyonce was WAY overhyped because at the end it was pretty basic...and since I personally love Katy I thought that we got a good show and I liked it for what it was.

 

Sure Britney COULD technically pull this Super Bowl off but I personally would love to remember her AMAZING performances compared to seeing her in her last couple years in the business and only see halfassed performances...you know what I mean? Everyone should remember her as a great artist and perfomer not like "remember that OK performance of her at the super bowl?"

 

And her PG performance was mediocre at best. And I really don't care if her FACIAL EXPRESSIONS were good...they won't show her from the neck up.

Then they're not really fans. A true fan would want her idol to perform in such a big event like this, no matter what. If she's not ready now, she won't be ready, like ever. I mean, what makes them think she'll get better in the next 5 years, 10 years? I think from now on we won't have anything more or better than what we have today in her performance skills. However, besides the progress she's had since the residency started, she can always go back if she stops performing due to a break or something, and when she comes back again it will be FFney all over again. So I don't know what are they waiting for to start supporting her. Again, if she makes a bad performance (or "an OK performance" as she calls them ) then what? Will they be embarrassed to admit to their families and friends that they "stan" for an artist that did a bad performance twice once?

The only meltdown I've had as a fan was the 2007 vma's. After that, and that era in general, my phrase has always been "it can't get worse then 2007". And now in the forums I've learned there's people who became fans because of that awful performance, and call it fierce and that they loved her attitude, and they even vote it as her best performance every time there's a poll. In my personal case, I think she can't be that bad again, I'm sure of it, and as long as it keeps being true, I'm fine with any show she gives. There always gonna be people who complains about everything, even if she makes the most amazing performance, there will be people complaining because she didn't sing their favorite song, or because we didn't have enough takes of her choreo, or that the remix sucked, the wig was awful, she wore a leotard, etc.

 

I've accepted we won't have Primeney again, but I think it's pretty good what she's doing recently, and I think it's enough to make such a performance like the Super Bowl. However there's people who will never think she's ready to do something like that, probably I should include Britney herself in that group of people. Or maybe she's still with that idea that she doesn't have nothing to prove. So...

 

But my point is, if they think she's not ready, because she's not Primeney anymore, then I bet they don't want her to make more music videos neither, because, she doesn't look like Primeney, and then she should stop releasing albums because they won't be like Blackout or Oops, etc, I mean, under their logic then she should retire and go home until she just magically becomes Primeney again. They should just stop pretending they're Britney fans and go and follow someone else who has that prime level of performance or that makes just #1 hits.

So maybe if she performs at the super bowl, and it sucks, and all of you stop stanning for her because of the huge meltdown, she'll gain a whole new fanbase and will be like the 2nd huge transformation of her fans. It won't be that bad actually, probably they're gonna adore Pretty Girls as their holy grail in the next years and will be always asking for PG 2.0 and Iggy as her executive producer

I haven't seen anything of Primeney in years. But I'm fine with her "halfassed" performances. That's what we have, and that's what I stan for today, and why I'm still here. And that's what I wanna see on a televised performance again, because as time goes by, it'll just get worse. PG wasn't even 20% of her glory days, but I repeat, she probably wouldn't even perform that song in the hypothetical case that she performed at the Super bowl. She would surely perform the numbers of her POM show, and that's what I think it's totally fine. Even with "the changes" she did to BTI, it's still great.

 

I'd rather remember an ok performance at the super bowl, than don't have any performance to remember at all. As I said to the other guy, I know it can't be as bad as 2007, and that's all I need to ask for her to perform at an event like this.

 

And I've been voting for her in that billboard poll they make every year, since 2012 I think, so it wasn't just because she was a little bit better in some of her shows this year, I was fine since the FFney performance level, so obviously I want it even more today. And I know that if she hasn't performed yet, it's very difficult that she performs now, or in the future, it's just up to her, but it makes me sad that it's her "own fans" the ones that think she wouldn't deliver a good show, or a show that's worthy to watch and remember.

I haven't seen anything of Primeney in years. But I'm fine with her "halfassed" performances. That's what we have, and that's what I stan for today, and why I'm still here. And that's what I wanna see on a televised performance again, because as time goes by, it'll just get worse. PG wasn't even 20% of her glory days, but I repeat, she probably wouldn't even perform that song in the hypothetical case that she performed at the Super bowl. She would surely perform the numbers of her POM show, and that's what I think it's totally fine. Even with "the changes" she did to BTI, it's still great.

 

I'd rather remember an ok performance at the super bowl, than don't have any performance to remember at all. As I said to the other guy, I know it can't be as bad as 2007, and that's all I need to ask for her to perform at an event like this.

 

And I've been voting for her in that billboard poll they make every year, since 2012 I think, so it wasn't just because she was a little bit better in some of her shows this year, I was fine since the FFney performance level, so obviously I want it even more today. And I know that if she hasn't performed yet, it's very difficult that she performs now, or in the future, it's just up to her, but it makes me sad that it's her "own fans" the ones that think she wouldn't deliver a good show, or a show that's worthy to watch and remember.

 

And thats only because she proofed so many times in the last couple years that she can't deliver a performance that everybody's talking about for years to come. IF Brit performs at such a massive event like the Super Bowl she can't give the millions of people Armney, Walkney and some Hairography. And if it's just the fact that it was the SUPER BOWL we had our performance with Aerosmith.
