I love both but honestly, britney came out first with a hit song. Not to mention, she walked the line between innocent and sexy in both music and video. Britney was sexually exploited by her team. I remember reading somewhere that her original idea for Bomt was her being in a school with a buncha cute boys around. Christina was never innocent even from the start.

Another thing, people related to britney because she was sweet and had a nice voice, not a powerhouse like christina.(And no, im not bashing Britney but from Bomt onwards, her singing voice became different). The media really messed those two up when they put them against each other and forced people to choose sides. Britney was the wholesome girl and christina was the more daring one.

Even when they both became sexy, their sexiness was different. Christina looked kinda dirty and freaky while britney continued to play sweet in interviews while being sexy in videos. This attracts more audience because she's a tease. Even now, when she says she's a mom, it's sorta bullshit because she and her management know that if she says that and then puts out a hot video like 3 or WB, she'll sell like crazy.

Yeah that basically explains why Britney is more popular, she's more consistent, has has more album success, has honestly worked more that Christina, and is more likeable and memorable because she doesn't stray far from her original image. Aside from the breakdown and weirdness with her and her conservatorship, she's more relatable and her songs are better. I was listening to a couple of newer Christina songs yesterday and while she can sing her ass off, the songs were just kind of boring and predictable. At least Britney always manages to be interesting. But I still hope they work together at some point down the line, a true girl power song is needed from them and they definitely would deliver a hit if you put them together.

They're inextricably linked but Britney has always been the bigger star and even now she still is.  

 

But I still hope they work together at some point down the line, a true girl power song is needed from them and they definitely would deliver a hit if you put them together.

 

I want this too, the closest we've gotten is the '03 VMA's and they sounded good together.

well you're right. christina is being called a bitch or diva, while britney is called 'everybodys darling'.

they should have put the singing/dancing category separate, Britney is much better dancer ( she should have won that)  Christina can have the singing, although i prefer Britney's voice over her

Maybe I'm a minority but I actually love christina's attitude (minute her bitch-fights). She just comes off as a VERY fiesty confident woman who is doing her own thing. Britney has a more sweetness to her even when she's confident. I get how christina can rub people off the wrong way though. I guess it depends on how you look at it. I actually think that maybe Britney should have been more forward like christina in some things like replying back to haters\celebs who dissed her. I really think a huge part of her breakdown stemmed from the fact that Britney always kept quiet when people dissed her. She always took the hits and never fired back. Nobody can handle that, not even the strongest person out there. Britney took it all in and ended up exploding in front of the world in 2007. She's overly sweet and nice sometimes. Even though it's a good thing because it makes people love her, it's also a curse. I don't want Britney to hold more things inside of her. No wonder she's so private now. Considering how much criticism she faced in her career, we're lucky Britney didn't end up shooting anyone. Nobody can handle this much criticism. I love Christina and Britney because they both have something that none of the new popstars have whether it's in terms of image or personality.

Sometimes I do and even though I love her rebellious side back then. It wasn't a good time. I remember staying up all night watching celebrity news fearing that Britney will end up dead. It was very scary being a britney fan\stan back then. Especially if you grew up with her. i watched an old documentary for her (posted it in another thread) called: Fall from grace.(I can pm u the link if u want) and it details britney's breakdown. I felt horrible after I finished it.. almost traumatized to re-watch those again. I remember seeing them live when they first aired. When u rewatch it, u think mmm.. wasn't so bad but that's because we know she's alive and well now.. but back then, it was terrifying.

I think the commentary in this video is delusional!  Pretending like Xtina has had any real level of success since 2006 is laughable!    She has been irrelevant longer than she was ever relevant at this point TBH.. It's actually strange that they would even compare a Superstar to a has-been.. guess they still thought it was 2001
