So I'm Going To Ask The Question That Is On Everyone's Mind - What The Hell Happened With Tom's Diner?

Where's the Mumuse version?

What exactly IS the Mumuse version? A single edit? A demo? A remix?

Why was the instagram video deleted?

Will we ever hear Britney's vocals for the bridge? (According to Unbrokeney, it exists.)

Why was the 4th verse not included, but the new bridge was?

There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?

No she does not
Really see me
Cause she sees
Her own reflection

And I'm trying
Not to notice
That she's hitching
Up her skirt

And while she's
Straightening her stockings
Her hair
Has gotten wet

Oh, this rain
It will continue
Through the morning
As I'm listening

To the bells
Of the cathedral
I am thinking
Of your voice...

And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time
Before the rain began...

I finish up my coffee
It's time to catch the train.

There's not enough answers. And I want some answers. 2vmvjog.jpg

well, the fourth verse was taken out to dramatically change the meaning of the song, so instead of it being the observational stream of consciousness folk bop that the original Suzanne Vega version was, it is now a claustrophobic voyeuristic slice that talks about Britney sneaking away to a coffee shop before being recognized by the paps.

We'll hear about all that stuff in a couple of years, if people feel nice enough to share what they got  :crying1:

2vmvjog.jpg I believe it's being saved for Britmas, along with the solo pleasure you and Red is the Color 2rzb62q.jpg

That's what I'm wondering too? Like why did britney even do the song? What benefits would she get out of it? :uhwtf: It was her idea in the first place to do the song and I'm just wondering what she has planned for it :mhm:

It's very odd that Britney would record any song and not even tweet about it.

Well was the song ever a single officially? I think she did the song because she's a fan of the original, she's probably a fan of moroders producing, she wanted to try to experiment with a new sound and at the end of the day it is his album and song not hers so the promo should come from him until it's an official single. Honestly it's just another in a long string of deep cuts from Britney at this point so what else is new?

I think she already tweeted about it, but yeah, it's very weird the way everything happened. I mean, if we could say like she was asked to do it, like when Miley asked her to do Bangerz (I cry every time I remember that song exists) and she felt forced to do it, that would explain why she didn't care about it later. But with Tom's Diner it was Britney herself who wanted to cover it, and she asked Giorgio and all that just to pay it dust? One would think that she at least had the plans of releasing it as a radio single.

We don't even know how she knew about Giorgio making a new album, I guess it was through the record label, but again, she didn't have to do it. I've always had the theory that maybe she wanted that song for her own album, because, if you know he's making his first album after 30 years, and he's obviously doing new, "fresh" tracks, and he's the father of disco, why would you go with him and ask to cover a late 80's song (or early 90's if we count the first cover, because we don't know which is the version that made Britney liked that song so much) that's not disco style, that wasn't produced by him, that wasn't even released in his era, and that would be somewhat hard to make it disco style? So my theory is that maybe they just told her he could produce some tracks, and she reached to him, and he assumed she knew about his project, so she wanted to be part of his album, but Britney only wanted the song for her upcoming B9, but after the confusion she just decided to give the track to him. Or I don't know, maybe she really knew the song was for Déjà Vu since the beginning, but still, it's very odd.

I wish someone asked her about TD during those last radio interviews we had a few weeks ago. Because by the next time she's interviewed, everybody would have already forgotten about that song.
