Appreciation for one of Brit's most intimate songs. It's been a bop of mine recently haha! I absolutely loves the lyrics; to me, they're like that feeling when you wake up late to the sun through the blinds on a Sunday morning and your S/O is still asleep and you kiss them awake :inneresting::werk::)

remember when we got BITM 1 and we all got this amazing gem of a song, complete with lush plushy strings that made it even more flawless, courtesy of Junkie XL?

and then became incredibly pessimistic when B in the MIx 2 didn't have a new song

I know we always praise it in passing, but And Then We Kiss deserves its own appreciation thread!

plus, thank goodness the original leaked (because I think I prefer this version more! something about the gentle guitar strums in the prechorus that really just adds to that intimate atmosphere!) And oh my Godney, that bridge is simply magic :hearts:

That kind of atmospheric vibe that the remixes from the early 2000's used to have is my favourite thing in the world, it's just so haunting and danceable at the same time! Most remixes nowadays are just vocals over noise, which I hate  :disagreewitchu:

Oh yes, it's one of the best songs she has ever recorded!!! I love the original version a little bit more than the remix too, the verses and bridge are my ENTIRE LIFE I always get into a special mood while listening to that song, it's so magical that can't describe it with my words... She needs to work with Mark Tylor once again, they created one of the best jams in her discography!

I love this song! And I like the fact that the Junkie XL Remix has an intimate vibe, something romantic, while the original version has more of a sexual feeling, kind of like a Breathe On Me part 2, which makes sense since it was produced by the same guy

I completely agree with the Mark Taylor bit! the mood is indeed so special! I tried to put it in words too but it still comes up short haha

I totally get that! tbh I always feel like Conscience is ATWK's sister song, but Conscience. Maybe they're like a trio, Conscience first, then BOM, then ATWK. Seduced at a club, in the bedroom, and the morning after. :werk: idk, Conscience is sooooooo underrated by the fanbase, and to me it evokes a similar atmosphere to ATWK

I love this song  :crying1:
Do you guys remember the rumors about the MV with Britney being a princess trapped in a castle and being rescued by a prince, something like Rapunzel...?  :crying5:

I kinda wish that the whole In The Zone album had more of 2000's europop feel to it. I love this record the way it sounds, but imagine a whole album including jams such as Touch Of My Hand, Breathe On Me or And then We Kiss, it'd be a pure heaven  :crying1:

One of her best tracks EVER!

Imagine an album full of songs like And Then We Kiss, Breathe On Me, Girls and Boys, Strangest Love, and Don't Hang Up  :crying1:

Omg yes, Girls and Boys is such an underrated gem. So is Don't Hang Up, one of my favorite tracks from Britney  :crying1:

I hear ya :crying1: I'm glad Brit visited India, a Jamaican ballroom and a 007 movie set on ITZ tho :crying5:

I'm honestly not a big fan of The Hook Up and Boom Boom, but I'm glad she was at least experimenting with different sounds for this record and I think Britney loved the final result, what is the most important thing! even though I don't like these both songs, ITZ is still full of amazing sounds - but not gonna lie, if they recorded some other songs similar to TOMH or ATWE and they had a chance to be on this record, I'd do everything to get them and even would be ready to reject some of the tracks from an actual tracklist  :crying1:

I like Boom Boom and The Hook Up is so fun! :ilahvu: but I agree, I wouldn't have minded if more songs like ATWK/Breathe on Me + Peepshow and Conscience sneaked into the final product. It woulda been so bangin :britney-awyeah: but I think she woulda been accused of ripping off Kylie :eekk:

omg, that's what I thought a moment ago :gloria: not exactly about ripping off Kylie, but just Kylie being considered as one of the main inspirations for the album among music critics and their reviews. I can't stand Boom Boom because of the Y&Y and their :orangu: vocals which ruined it for me, otherwise it's a fun song! but I wish they deleted this useless MATM remix and put another song instead. and Brave New Girl, yeah... I like it, but why the hell is this on this kind of record :gloria: I feel like with songs such as Peepshow or Conscience instead of useless tracklist fillers it would've been her most critically acclaimed record :mhm:

oh my god Brave New Girl should've been hidden away in the second half of Britney tbqh :britdrown: and yeah, the MATM remix is such garbage filler. I thank my lucky stars that Conscience leaked because it's honestly one of my fave songs of Brit. A shame that Peepshow will never leak in full :crying5: I also think that, if there was ever a moment for Slave 4 U 2.0 to rear its head, it should've been on ITZ.

I kinda like some flop tracks from Britney, but no lies detected tbh. overall this record is not my cup of tea and can't get used to it, no matter how hard I try :orangu: It's a big mess with too many sounds and musical directions, lyrically too. I really wish that Crossroads soundtrack was released instead of filling her upcoming studio album with songs that doesn't fit there at all.

I love MATM and original version (even though it has one of the worst Madge vocals ever), but I haven't listened to this remix in years and I always skip it while playing ITZ. I saw some people enjoying it more than the original version, and that's fine but why the hell they included it instead of another song  :britdrown: I' m pretty sure there were tons of songs that deserved this place so much more, but oh well.

I love Conscience & PS as well, one of my favorite unreleased tracks for sure. maybe Michelle will leak it one day, who knows... but I'm praying for it to happen  :crying5:

I COMPLETELY AGREE. Britney is such a grab bag mess. Only on that album can a slinky Neptunes sex banger, a Max Martin throwback from when she was like 16, and a Dido song ALL BE RELEASED AS SINGLES. WHAT EVEN.

The MATM remix does make me move my body, I'll give it that, but yeah I do like the original better. And who likes the remix better oh my god the lack of taste :britdrown: AND THE MADGE VOCAL SHADE :madonnagu: my sister always makes fun of how Madge's old woman vibrato will linger on after a phrase and it sounds so out of place :gloria:

MICHELLE BELL PLEASE LEAK AT LEAST THE BRIDGE OF PEEPSHOW BECAUSE I'M SURE IT SLAYS LIVES I CAN DEAL WITH LOOPING THE FIRST VERSE AGAIN BUT OH GOD THE BRIDGE IS THE STUFF OF DREAMS WHO WOULDN'T MIND TO DISAGREEEEEE

I'm laughing right now but there's so much tea in this :gloria: the era was everything, probably her best - the girl was everywhere promoting like crazy, we got 6 music videos, lots of performances, a movie and much more yet musically it was one of her weakest - singles were strong though, can't deny that!

I don't even remember how does that remix sound tbh, just remember it had some kind of arabic elements taken straight from bollywood :orangu: but yeah, I don't get how can you prefer that to the original either  :britdrown:

LMAO :gloria: your sister is right tho, it was the time when her voice started to sound like shit, post-american life era must've been so hard for the stans :orangu: :orangu: :orangu: I really love her old vocals even though she's not somehow gifted vocally or anything, but milfdonna - and like your sister said - her "old woman" sounding vibrato is killing me every time, I swear :gloria:

I had a break from Britney music for some time, but I'm going to play my favorite unreleased tracks tommorow while driving, can't wait until Peep Show or Conscience will come and blow my speakers up   :yayy:  :yayy:  :yayy:
