Britney Spears has been under a remarkably successful conservatorship for 7 1/2 years, and sources familiar with the situation tell us it could last a lifetime.

We're told there are no plans to end the conservatorship, even in the long term, and no one involved is complaining. As TMZ and every other media outlet reported,

Britney was so bad off at the end of 2007 her family was in fear she would die.

After she was taken to the hospital on a psych hold, her dad, Jamie Spears, went to court and a conservatorship was established in January 2008. There are actually 2 conservatorships ... one for the person, and one for finances.

Fact is ... the conservatorships have worked remarkably well. Britney -- who at her worst was on the verge of losing permanent custody of her kids -- is now by any standard a great parent. Jamie and Britney's doctors have stabilized her to the point she can successfully work and maintain a personal life.

As for the financial conservatorship, it has been a huge success. Last year alone the conservatorship raked in $14 million, and that's only a portion of Britney's financial machine. As one source said, before the conservatorship her finances were an absolute mess, and the ship has been fully righted.

We're told Britney -- who has a team of lawyers and doctors, along with Jamie, managing the conservatorship -- has "substantial day-to-day freedom" to make her own decisions.

It's probably in place for security / financial reasons rather than because Britney is actually unstable (although we don't know what she is like behind closed doors tbh) and I doubt it really affects her anymore other than probably having to go through a few hoops to get certain shit done. She seems happy and appears to be pretty free to do whatever the fuck she wants. However it would still suck having that hung over your head all the time and I imagine as happy as she is now, she'd feel better with it lifted.

I doubt how legit this article even is considering it is coming from TMZ but if it is true it says no one involved is complaining. If homegirl really wanted to, she could go to the court house with her lawyers and have it be lifted tbh. If she is happy with how it is going than that's all that really matters.

We don't know the full story, we don't know Britney in real life. But I imagine if Britney was truly unhappy with it I would hope to think she would try and get out, which makes me think she must be happy with it. She's said before she likes routine, order and work, and that C-ship must do exactly that. We don't want another breakdown of Britney walking around having a mental breakdown.

 

Yes it can be tough to understand a 33 year old women being treated like a kid, but you all need to understand she has mental disorders (I'm not saying she's being treated like a kid because of that, god no) but she needs order and routine in her life, she has her kids, she has a good performing schedule. Sure she isn't promoting as she use to, or as relevant but that's her choice. If she wants to she will. If you don't like it I suggest you follow another, more relevant mainstream artist like Taylor Swift or Beyonce. I will always stick by her side, fuck..even if she killed someone.

Listen, we know she walks her dogs and kids without even supervision or bodyguards, thats a HUGE step. She can drive her car, she can go shopping and use he rmoney as she likes. There really isn't anything bad in this anymore..

 

I believe it is there for a reason, maybe the reason just isn't clear to us, but it really doesn't mean anything. It helps her get jobs, and insurance-companies trust her more now than in 2007..

The truth is we have no idea what really is going on behind the scenes...all we knows is bits and pieces thrown at us by the TABLOIDS! For all we know this may very well just be a tool for protecting Britney against lawsuits and nothing more. I hope that this is really for her best and that she's not a "modern slave"!

At the end of the day the conservatorship is in place to keep Britney safe, stable and on the right track. She has freedom, her kids and seems to be much happier which is the best part. The conservatorship is just in place so that Britney doesn't go off the edge, and go back to the dark place she used to be in. Britney seems to be back to the Britney we know and love, thing could of gotten a lot worse, but she is a lot better now which is the best thing
