How is Circus more personal than Britney Jean?

Mannequin is not on the list how dare you

I was listening to the songs and reading the lyrics as I wrote this list and really Mannequin doesn't sound personal at all to me. In the sense that she is a mannequin to the general public and her people sometimes and she's just a pretty face that would make sense BUT. She's talking about love and doesnt mention anything outside of a relationship and it just seems waaaaaay too broad to really have it be about anything specific.

Circus is personal, but no where near as personal as Britney Jean. On Britney Jean she talks about her breakup with Jason, her kids, her family, Christianity (and how it saved her life), her thoughts on fame, not to mention Passenger and Hold On Tight alone are more personal than anything on Circus.

 

Just to reiterate, I'm not saying Circus isn't personal. But Britney Jean is on another level tbh.

perhaps some younger fans dont relate to the themes in BJ because they are her current issues/mindset etc

Circus is talking about her as a performer, especially after her "breakdown" it LITERALLY explains who Britney Spears is. Work Bxxch is just meaningless.
