Forget the necessities like clothing, food and shelter, these silly items had no impact on your childhood like Britney Spears aka the original Queen B did.

1. She had the BEST songs

…Baby One More Time, Oops!…I Did it Again, Stronger, Lucky, Crazy still sound as good now as they did when you first purchased them on cassette from Woolies with your pocket money.

They were the undisputed soundtrack of your younger years, and you spent many school discos trying to copy the gym scene from the …Baby One More Time video.

2. Dance moves on point

More effort went into learning to dance like Britney than revising for your Year 6 SATs. This process was complex and consisted of carefully recording Britney music videos onto a blank VHS and learning a few steps at a time.

The shimmy from the locker scene in the …Baby One More Time video is still your signature move to this day.

3. Iconic music videos

Each video set a higher standard than the one before, and you would desperately try to find a way to copy the look.

These attempts included getting your Nana to stitch together a red jumpsuit, and also sticking together a pack of clear tights to make a dress and covering it in sequins to look like Britney in the Toxic vid. This was a massive fail.

4. She made Teletubbies cool

Sure they were on your radar, but it was only after that Rolling Stones cover that anybody actually cared about them.

5. Fashion choices = FIERCE

Before Kanye popped up wearing silly ensembles, Britney was the original style icon of modern times. The butterfly clips, the tinted sunglasses, the cowboy hats, the school girl outfit, the red jumpsuit, and let us never forget the matching denim outfits.
