Today 16 years ago VMAney appeared in our lives for the very first time.

It was 1999 and 17 year old Britney was ready to slay the VMA's for the first time. The red carpet look was :pieceofwhat:

yet unforgettable and cool and faded :gloria:

The performance was cute :xf10: I feel like we (Army) sometimes forget homegirl was only 17 and this was one of her very first award show performances and we overlook it. This is your golden oportunity to show some BOMTney love

8 years later she performed again (for the last time  :crying1:)

The year was 2007 and Britney was releasing an amazing album but wasn't ready to perform. She was brave and tried to perform with lack of rehearsals and a broken heel. QUEEN :xf6:

September 9th: day of her most forgotten and her most criticized performance respectively

Posted

She made being a teenage pop star look easy, this performance is often overlooked by her other VMA moments but she slayed it here.  Love everything about this one: the dancing was on point, the "live" vocal track added to the hip-hop remix of BOMT perfectly, and she looks great.  My only negative is the outfits both she & her dancers are wearing, it clashes with the theme.  I know she was tying to get away from the whole school girl look but that would have been perfect for this number.  (Or a cheerleader type of outfit.)    :fliph:

You know you're a stan when you know where that  recorded line "Right now I'd like to introduce some friend's of mine" is from.   :bomt:

That infamous VMA performance, by her standards, was very lackluster and not really exciting but her makeup looked nice.   :awkwarddd:
