Selena Gomez Ripping Off Xtina

I know Sel said that her new album Revival is inspired by Xtina's "Stripped" era and that's all fine and dandy but it's actually starting to look like the era in its imagery when she released this photo today:

I know it's not the same as the stripped cover but the use of physically stripping and stripping to your "true self" HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE. And fans find this super amazing and revolutionary. Are you serious? It's almost sad that "artists" like Selena Gomez who can't sing or perform well - cannot even attempt some originality with their album concepts and visuals.

I know she is a huge fan of Britney and Xtina and I know she probably has good intentions and wants to honor them in some way but to base your entire career in attempts to somehow mimick theirs in a new age is so insulting to artists out there who have something new and innovative to offer the world but are consistently overshadowed by people like Selena Gomez.

I like Selena but she's lacking depth and even though she claims this will be a "personal" album, it's hard for me to get past this wannabe Britney/Xtina persona she's developed.

Floptina is constantly copying everyone else. Stripped is I think the only era where she was artistically unique.

 

Xtinct should be thankful that Selenerr is openly paying homage to stripped tbh because then the new generation might actually know about XXLTina's best album..

I know what you mean but when you lack actual musical talent like Selena, it just comes off cheap and unoriginal to me. It would be different if this was a highly respected artist with their own creative visuals. It just feels sloppy to me

Doesn't matter in regards to Xtinas career now, that album was one of her best (back to basics too) and she has real talent.

I'm not a fan of selena but I actually love her evolution tge past years. Even if it is through inspiration from other artists (or copying). Have you seen the good for you performance from the revival event? It screams Britney! And I dont hate her for that. No one should hate her for that. This shows she respects older and better artists than her and is trying to rebuild her image through their success. I loved the fact that when I saw that performance I instantly thought of Breathe on me from house of blues or tomh beggining from onyx. I prefer to have Selena than Taylor who is inspired by Beyonce's ego and it makes her unbearable, ariana who copies mariah and her hortible attitude, Demi and her forced sexy image or Nicki Minaj and her Gheto sex persona. As about selena humping Bieber I agree he is gross but remember that Britney spent 18 months with David, an ugly cheating ogre. Think about it!
