Are Pretty Girls & Tom's Diner A Test To See What Direction Will Take The Album?

I'm the only one who got the feeling these 2 singles has been released just to see what genre will work better on Britney's 9th album?  

She probably has been recording mostly urban & dance songs and depending on the GP response with these 2 songs the album will take one or another direction.

I hope I'm wrong...

'Pretty Girls', maybe. 'Tom's Diner' is a track on Giorgio's album and it's a cover. One could argue that 'Scream & Shout' was just a collab too and it did really have an impact on what 'Britney Jean' ended up being, but I don't see Team Britney taking this as a starting point for the new era. If 'Tom's Diner' is released as a single and it performs well on charts, there might be a song produced by Giorgio on the new album, which I think could be a great idea and something fresh for Britney.

 

And 'Pretty Girls' was a flop chart-wise, but the urban direction is already taken and I doubt they will scrap everything last minute (not that they haven't done that before). At this point, I think the new album will be out when the new revamped show premieres next year, so they are recording and mixing, and by the end of the year they will start picking songs.

Sis , Britney already has like 10 songs done and is working w/ urban producers. I dont think they are testing. Toms diner has nothing to do w/ Britney what so ever thats Giorgio's single , he just wants to release it as his 4rth single and save the best for last

As for Pretty Girls its already said that it was just a buzz single thats all

These are just buzz singles but no doubt Britney's team is looking which has some impact. Pretty Girls impact however, flopped hard.

like it's been already said by users above - Tom's Diner is a Giorgio song so it has nothing to do with B9 in my opinion. Pretty Girls on the other hand most likely yes, but thankfully it flopped   or they just tried to create a little hype for the vegas promo.

I completely agree them releasing the album next year with the Vegas show would work, it makes perfect sense really. Unless they're gonna release it on Britney's birthday like Britney Jean and we already know how that went...

I do think that at times. They are both very different songs and even though TD is on Moroder's album, Britney chose it and could have been using it as response as to if the fans would like it. But in the end, she got more positive feedback for Tom's Diner than for Pretty Girls. If Pretty Girls did anything, it brought Britney back to award show performing to show people she was still a force on stage and it was hailed by critics as throwback to her earlier days of great performances. So both singles have served a purpose in a way
