Ulf Ekberg, member of Ace Of Base, briefly discussed Britney's cover of All That She Wants in a recent interview with ABC News.

"They wanted to release it, but that was a difficult time for her," Ekberg said, alluding to her rough year. "It was only in Denmark, never finished and didn't end up on her album. It was cool though. She took the choruses, took away the verses and wrote new ones about her mom. It was very strong."

The song was about her Muva ? Omg was it bad?

I honestly just think he's talking about the line "I saw my mama being swallowed". At least we know for sure it's a Blackout outtake now, so people will stop claiming it's an Original Doll song :orangu:

I have no clue what she meant lmao. It was from BO but a lot of fans say it's from OD on those fake flop OD tracklistings lol

I always believed that it was for Blackout, I'm glad it's confirmed now!

That song was about her childhood I think and how much her dad was a piece of shit to her mother.

Well it kinda makes sense in a way... Also it looks like the first verse is about Kevin and the second one about her family...
We know that Britney wrote the song and she wrote it in 2007... it was her roughest year and many things have happened and she wanted to take distance from everyone... including her family...

she was very outspoken at the time + anger makes you say things even if you don't want to = that's how "All That She Wants" was created

it might or it might not.... but it could make sense! XD

i remember when she posted the poem back in 2006

Remembrance of Who I Am May 22, 2006

No more chains

That you gave me.

Enough of pain

Now I'm craving

Something sweet, so delight

How do you stand sleeping at night?

Silly patterns that we follow

You pull me in

I'm being swallowed.

By the ones you think you love

They pull you down

You can't see up above.

Manipulation is the key

They screw it in

Because you're naive.

You come to me now

Why do you bother?

Remember the Bible

The sins of the Father.

What you do

You pass down

No wonder why

I lost my crown.

You don't see me now

You ask yourself why

My crown is back

And it's way too high

For you to be in my presence

Especially my son

You should bow down

I've only just begun.

The guilt you fed me

Made me weak.

The voodoo you did

I couldn't speak.

You're awakening

The phone is ringing.

Resurrection of my soul

The fear I'm bringing.

What will you say

And what will you do?

She's not the same person that you're used to.

You trick me one, twice, now it's three.

Look who's smiling now

Damn, it's good to be me!

*This is for everyone who thinks they know me...

Like with "Guilty (Kiss)" & "Love 2 Love U" this is a great way to use a sample.  I never would have thought much of this song had the lyrical content not been brought to my attention.  She really needs to be left to own devices more often.

According to Internet commenters, every unreleased Britney track is an Original Doll track. I think that album has about 76 tracks now. chewgum.gif

Any Britney fan that you meet, will always rave about Britney's unreleased collection and so they should! There is a long list of songs that have been shelved, that should never have been and some snippets of songs that we would easily offer a body limb in exchange for a full version - hell even albums that have been claimed to be her best work that we will never hear - we are talking about you Original Doll. One of Brit's tracks, 'All That She Wants', a remake of an 'Ace Of Base' classic is no exception:

Ulf Ekberg, of 'Ace Of Base' fame, sat down with Michael Rothman (ABC News) to discuss why this hidden gem was never completed and never made the final 'Blackout era' cut.

Britney Spears
Recorded a Cover of 'All That She Wants'

Martin Dodd, who worked for Danish label Mega Records, bought the band's contract for a measly $2,000 from a smaller label while Ace of Base was still young. Ekberg doesn't blame the person who sold the band, but jokes that he made a "small mistake."

Dodd later left Mega Records and signed Britney Spears. He also worked with the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync. When those bands failed to catch on with U.S. consumers, Dodd decided to bring these bands overseas, where Ace of Base had made its mark.

"That’s how all these American bands started coming here," Ekberg said.

Around 2007 Britney Spears recorded an "All That She Wants" cover because of the Dodd connection.

"They wanted to release it, but that was a difficult time for her," Ekberg said, alluding to her rough year. "It was only in Denmark, never finished and didn't end up on her album. It was cool though. She took the choruses, took away the verses and wrote new ones about her mom. It was very strong."
