I'm not a blackout hater, it's just not my favorite album, just like her other albums aren't especially your favorite either.

But to explain why, it's just that i don't really like the style of it, i prefer real pop, pop/rock things like that, also "lighter music" i don't know how to explain myself but Blackout has a dark/trashy/etc.. vibe to me and it's not really my cup of tea honestly. But obviously i like the songs in it, it's just that if i have to compare with her other albums then yes Blackout isn't my favorite.

Blackout represents a Darker Britney, considering what was going on in her life at the time, Blackout was on point! It's what let me open up to being a fan and being proud of it. Before I knew it I was watching every performance she had done, and was so defensive over Brit.

Gimme More is a dark, sexy song with a dirty beat which Britney is perfect for, no one could do it better!!! (My favourite for sure)

Plus nothing beats.....It's Britney Bitch!!

BO seemed to be more Britney than any other album

Honestly I don't know that there are really too many blackout haters out there. For me personally I love the album. As an era the singles were all great, I loved the iTunes remix eps, piece of me and gimme more were amazing videos, and I even loved all the album artwork. I don't agree with a lot of people who call certain parts of that era iconic when they were really so damaging and hurtful to Britney and her career at that time and in ways still today.

I don't hate it. I hate the fact that it's so overrated by current fans. It's better than any other artist's album, just because it's Britney. But I prefer any other Britney album over Blackout. It's my least favorite.

I grew up with Britney Spears, since BOMT. I fell in love with that kind of music. So, not only Blackout embodies what was the worst time in Britney's life and as a fan of hers, but the sound, that "urban sound" that most of you love, was just exactly the opposite of what I fell in love with at the beginning.

I don't care if her previous work was more commercial, plastic, cheesy, that's what I liked and still like today. Blackout, was like seeing my idol die. Especially with those videoclips (except BTI which is the only one that's fine). Yeah, she was more involved in this project as a producer, but she was in a really bad place, so it's almost as if it wasn't even Britney who produced this.

I really love BTI, and I like HAI and OOB. The rest of the album is just ok, except for those songs that are basically Danja ft. Britney. I'm very used to that kind of song structure of the Max Martin songs: verse, chorus, verse, chorus, break, slightly different chorus, and 2 final choruses. These songs are just very weird, and very repetitive. I praise the fact that is different, it shows a different side of Britney, but that's it. I don't want to see that side anymore. I get that an artist has to evolve and experiment different things, but this change was just really extreme. Now Circus was so much closer to the classic sound, that's why I prefer it. FF was totally different, but it was good in its own way, without becoming my favorite.

I know that most of you became fans because of that album, and it's obvious you'll want to hear more things like that. And it's obvious you're gonna bash something like Britney Jean. But it's the same thing in my case, it's obvious I'll always prefer something like OIDIA or Britney. I don't know if you, Blackout lovers, got the chance to enjoy the beginning of her career, when it was actually happening. Watching YT clips or listening to songs that are already old isn't the same. I just can't understand how someone who lived those eras, would still prefer Blackout over other albums/songs/videos.

Of course there must be people that will say, I was a fan before, and became a bigger fan after Blackout (I'll always doubt that, but I guess it must be possible). I think just everybody is different.

Circus gave me hope that the old Britney could still come back. I mean, after Blackout I thought, that's it. This is just the way it's gonna be from now on. If someone told me back then that Britney was going to do a song like Ooh La La or Now That I Found You, or Hold on Tight in the future, I would have said "yeah, sure, as if".  So it wasn't until Circus came out that I kinda started to tolerate Blackout songs. So it was just another Britney album to me, like, I don't know, Chaotic, or those Pepsi songs. But when I discovered the forums around 2011, and I saw how everybody overrated Blackout, and no one was praising Oops or you know, individual songs, Stronger, Crazy, Lucky, Sometimes, Overprotected, I thought it was a nightmare, it just couldn't be true, a Britney fan that says Blackout or Gimme More or Get Naked is the best she's done. I call that trolling. Just like any of you would call me a troll if I say I like Britney Jean or I think NTIFY is one of the best songs she's done since Circus album.

Because FF is way better :queenflopga:

Plus I like dark songs, but idk it was just a weird horrible time for Britney and I didn't like that, plus Heaven On Earth (HOE) is a weird a** song and some other songs on there I was like :orly: like TS, idk I just don't like hip hop type sound and that's what it felt like :mhm:

I have such a huge dilemma with Blackout because it's not my favourite album as a whole, but there are many songs that I ABSOLUTELY love, like, Gimme More, that has to be on Toxic's level in terms of production, quality, fierceness, iconicness... everything!

Last time we posted that picture on our twitter we got mocked big time for being disrespectful to all Catholics, one girl made it look like we killed the Pope or something. It was terrible.

But anyways ITZ and Blackout are her best albums. Along with OIDIA they're in the top 3 Britney albums, as rated by the GP. They're not overrated by any means and totally deserve all the praise they can get.  :yayy:

That's an interesting and totally understandable opinion (yes I've read the whole post)...!

It's not my favorite Britney album but I could never hate a Britney album.

Some of the songs are AMAZING like gimme more, break the ice, ooh ooh baby, heaven on earth, get naked and freakshow.

However, there are a few that make my ears bleed from the OVER OVER-USE of vocoder (or whatever) like toy soldier and hot as ice...

Back in the days people said similar things about itz that they are saying about blackout now, some fans had trouble hearing Britney being mature and talking about sex and being dark and urban, kinda like some fans dont like blackout now its funny too see. :D
