Will Overprotected Keep Being The "censored" Song Till The End Of Times?

No but seriously, we need that song to come back! Like, she has made songs about very personal issues ever since the breakdown, so I don't see why they wouldn't allow her to perform Overprotected just because it could be related to the conservatorship. C'mon Brit, you said you were bringing some fan favourites to the revamped POM show, make it happen plz tumblr_inline_mh23egTwEX1r0lpji.jpg

She needs too! :crying1:

And if she wears the "You don't own me" top on the performance that would be fucking iconic  :crying4:

Well.. I think it's clearly related to all what happened after her breakdown but also the fact that she's 33 and it doesn't make sense that a 33 year old is kinda "complaining" about not being able to be completely free.. She recorded it when she was 19.

It's kinda the same thing that happened to IANAGNYAW.

I wish it was performed again though. it's a fucking classic :crying2:

Well, she's performing cheesy songs like BOMT, Oops and Crazy so I don't think that would be a problem :aintevenmad:

That's because if she doesn't perform lead singles of her albums people would set Planet Hollywood on fire :gloria:

Maybe we should let them know that we feel the same way about Overprotected and they'll feel threatened or something  :wutwut:

you're all such drama queens.

Writing things like "they won't let her perform it"  - seriously shut up, she's not a retarded child... did it ever occur to you that maybe she just didn't want to? or maybe she just preferred other songs a little bit more.

So bored of "fans" who talk about Britney as if she is a completely passive robot who follows instructions and nothing else.

I think she doesn't perform Overprotected for the same reasons she won't ever perform I'm Not A Girl again. They're about being a young girl growing up and finding themselves. She's 30 odd and a mother now.

BOMT, Oops, Lucky, etc, may be cheesy because they're 90s pop songs, but lyrically they can all be sung by any adult.

Well, if these are the reasons, then she souldn't even be allowed to perform "Lucky"... and I don't even believe to the excuse that she's a grown woman now, even because she still sings "I'm A Slave 4 U" (I know I may be young, but I've got feelings too and I need to do what I feel like doing so let me go and just listen... all you people look at me like I'm a little girl well did you ever think it be okay for me to step into this world always saying little girl don't step into the club well I'm just tryin' to find out why cause dancing is what I love)

Artists don't deny or change their work just because they change age!!! so if she really wanted to perform INAGNYAW she could very well get on the stage and perform it! I would LOVE if she performs "Overprotected" again, but simply and apparently she prefers to perform other songs...

Now she has such a big repertoire that she is forced to make some sacrifice of songs to put together a show with a certain limit of time

Why? Lucky is a story. It could be about anyone and anyone could sing it.

She's never performing it again. Just like she's not gonna do "Not a Girl" those songs were written essentially alongside Crossroads and the theme within the songs is about coming of age. Britney's grown now.

I would love to see "Overprotected" return in some form either as an interlude, ballad remix, or full out dance number.  I think it could be a really powerful number like how "Lucky" is (pre-swing set prop).  I don't think it's banned, she did name the video as one of her favorites in a magazine interview.   :thatsright:

Janet Jackson still performs all of her early hits that dealt with her emerging independence and she's nearly 50.  Songs like "Overprotected" INAGNYAW are Britney's own version of Control.
