HolySpearit Posted November 27, 2015 #1 Report Posted November 27, 2015 I stan so hard that my cousin literally thinks Britney is the only artist that I like My mom was playing the music channel on tv as we were getting the thanksgiving dinner ready and Mariah's All I Want For Christmas came on. I asked my cousin who's 15 if she knew who it was and she goes "well if you're asking it's probably Britney Spears" There are plenty of things wrong with this: 1. She thinks I am musically shallow 2. She obviously doesn't know what Britney sounds like 3. She doesn't know Mariah's voice this generation... 5
ALEX -II- 11O39 Posted November 27, 2015 #2 Report Posted November 27, 2015 I asked my cousin who's 15 if she knew who it was and she goes "well if you're asking it's probably Britney Spears" OMFG !!!! But there's nothing wrong with 2 and 3 (obviously, it slays)... Some kids aren't really into music and don't know the artists really good. I know I'm 19 and still I don't know the names of actors except GODGELINA JOLIE 1
JoshLee Posted November 27, 2015 #3 Report Posted November 27, 2015 same tho, kids in this generation listen to rap music so I'm not surprised they didn't know the difference between Mariah and Britney But seriously who doesn't know the difference between them? Also same as @ I barely know actors except her
I_need_me Posted November 27, 2015 #4 Report Posted November 27, 2015 Most people these days just listen to Top 40 radio programs, so the only songs they know are the ones that are currently popular. Also, they don't spend time getting to know the artists that they enjoy, like, they don't do any kind of research on Jason Derulo (lame example, I know ) if they hear his song on the radio, they just go "Oh, cool song" and that's it, that's why these new generations don't know what many singers look or sound like. 3

gimmework Posted November 27, 2015 #6 Report Posted November 27, 2015 2. She obviously doesn't know what Britney sounds like 3. She doesn't know Mariah's voice this generation... OMG right?!??!! Like how could she not know what these two sound like!?!???? She probably know the Justin Bieber or 5th Harmony version of AIWFCIS better than Mariah's original tbh... Another thing wrong with this generation! lol.. I mean when Britney came out with "I love rock n roll" we all knew it was a cover of a "Pat Benetar" song.. I can't believe she would think a Mariah song could be Britney tho.. OMG lol

Yes!! Back in the days you just had to put the music channel on and we could watch documentaries and all sort of music related stuff. We would buy music magazines etc.. Nowadays I think they have to dig for information if you wanna know a certain artist. Yes you can look on youtube or wikipedia but it's really not the same a lot of people don't wanna waste time doing research. We are so fast paced. Its not like before we just had to open the tv. No distraction like a tablet or smartphone. Like the majority of the kids listen to a music video or two and then loose interest really fast. Or don't wanna read long paragraphs about music.. I feel like everything about how music is prensented has changed. Albums don't matter that much anymore, artist don't really matter like before and a lot of people only care about how big of a hit a song is or if song/artist is "relevant" or not! When I talk to my lil sister, her friends or other teens about music it seems that the way they approach music is way different than when we were young... There's a lot of music snobs kids that are so close-minded. Thankfully not all the kids are like that! 2

It makes me think; One day I was listening to a Fergie song and my niece said: " Oh Britney sounds really good here..." I was so mad at her!! Lol

Kids became shallow unintrested and selfish They dont care who sings the song as they dont consider the artist an actual person, just someone who is there to entertain them
