Melissia Joan Hart reveled to Bustle that she really didn’t want Drive Me Crazy to be named after Britney’s song because she ultimately didn’t think that Britney would be a big deal down the road.

xfactor

Melissia says:

“I tried to fight Fox on that,” Melissa said. “I was like, ’Some little teenybopper’s gonna come in and rename our movie? She’s gonna be a flash in the pan, nobody’s gonna remember her in five years and then our movie’s gonna be named after her song.’ I was a little wrong.”

Yes Melissia you were wrong because now Britney is the biggest iconic pop star in the WORLD, but its ok Melissa we still love you!

I mean, I kind of get it. No one fully understood or knew Britney's potential at that time. I remember being confused as to if the movie was named after the song or vice versa.

true, she probably saw it as a "one hit wonder" who's trying to milk it as much as possible. they ended up being good friends though

Who said it was what was important in life? I said karma got her for her comments and I didn't lie.

that's just your opinion

not everyone HAS to like Britney, and if they don't (which she does), it doesn't mean that they automatically suck

Never said she sucked, never said everyone has to like Britney. But there is no denying that Melissa making those claims about Britney are pretty ironic considering the circumstances between the two and their careers.

Why back when Melissa was quoted as saying she felt bad for Britney and got her to sneak out and party back in the day a lot of people were for it but now that she says she wasn't sure Britney was gonna be as successful as she ultimately became and was confused as to why they would name a movie after a new artist's song you're all upset? It's not really shady, Melissa is just being honest about how she felt at the time, she's not hating on Britney.
