That only applies to sales. Beyonce's career started in the 90s, solo or group, it doesn't matter.

It wasn't just about an artist who was also around in the 90s, the being solo thing matters here. No she did not. BEYONCE THE SOLO ARTIST DEBUTED IN 2003 (techically 2002 or whenever she did the austin powers movie) and in the late 1990s Destiny's Child debuted. There's a difference which is why Michelle and Kelly don't get credit for any Beyonce work post 2003, they're not the same.

And the same thing for JT and Nsync (which is why Adele broke Nsync's record and not Justin's record)
