THAT SONG DESERVED SO MUCH MORE! "Tom's Diner" should have been the lead single and given the full treatment, because when it leaked the response was huge and very favorable. That was a missed opportunity that had potential to be a hit for Britney. 1

She picked the song, gave final notes on what she wanted the track to sound like, wanted to work with him, etc, she was fully involved from start to finish. 2

I still listen to it daily and still have goosebumps at the hook before the first chorus it's an AMAZING song! with an AMAZING production!!! 3

I love it, and I think it's funky, fun, and cool - but it wasn't going to be a smasha. It was a nice treat for the fans to see that Britney was still being creative and able to make great, interesting music. No one would have guessed Britney would cover that song. Just like when she did Alanis during the Cirus tour. It's better that after PG Britney just kept quiet, looked hot, and made people anticipate ha next move

Yeah something like that. But according to Giorgio Moroder he was surprised by the initial positive reception to "Tom's Diner" so in his mind it probably wasn't lead single worthy to begin with. But I think Kylie's song was always intended to be the lead single tho, with "Tom's Diner" being one afterwards, but Sia's collab was used instead because she was "hot" at the time. That was a misfire too. :prettay:
