USA media is so fricking judgemental like it is only a recent thing having to put kids in safety seats.when I was a child I remember being in loads of different kids parents cars no one even wore seatbelt back then in the 90s.I remember being on a school tour in a minibus the driver accelerated the back doors flung open the boy sitting beside me went flying out the door landing like 30 foot down the road.accidents happen.
