On The Issue Of Image/gif Spamming

Everyone:

 

   We have been receiving an unusually high number of reports from several users complaining of image/GIF spamming in our forum. Please remember that per our forum rules, this practice is not allowed. The following comes directly from our rules:

 

17. Gifs/Images: Spamming or repeatedly using the same gif in a response can lead to a warning.

 

5......."Posts with Britney unrelated content in the Britney Spears Section will be removed/moved by a moderator"

 

 

These rules are in place to ensure that all our members can enjoy the forums. Please be considerate regarding this issue.

But what is the problem with using a gif many times as a response? Like, I'd get it if it was a huge image that would annoy people and make the page go slow, but what I've seen are just normal gifs that some members use as an inside joke.

You can use other emotes and images. What causes trouble is when these images are used over and over again innundating a thread in a manner that is annoying to other users. Remember, everyone has a right to enjoy the forums. All we want is a little common sense from everyone.

lol,the only thread we 'inundated' of images was my thread about the PCA dress and we were literally with @ the only ppl discussing in that thread we were just joking between us.

That is not true. There's a lot of freedom here....but be reasonable, Mike! If someone else was doing something that annoyed you and was against the rules, you would also like for the staff to handle it. Have you seen our rules? There are not many and they are pretty basic TBH.

Without meaning to fuel the drama I have to say that I think that this is very unfair. Why is it wrong to use an image on my posts just because it's not an official emote? I'm sorry but I still don't understand why some people have a problem with this.
