Do You Believe The Director's Cut Of Perfume Was Withheld Because Of The Gun Situations In The United States?

We've had a few years where guns have been a controversial topic, and this kinda just crossed my mind.

The scene involves Britney shooting somebody, and around that time I believe there was a specific mass shooting when the video was being cut. I don't remember.

 

 

We have a mass shooting literally every day in the US, I just had one on the other side of my own town.

 

Anyway, guns are crazy y'all.

 

But I think that's why Perfume DC never got released.

Anything is possible but I also think it had a lot to do with Britney not liking the final take/not wanting to be portrayed however it looked.

I believe so, yeah.  The Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings occurred right around the time "Perfume" was scheduled for release.  

 

The original plot is just confusing and makes no sense for this song. I wouldn't mind seeing the director's cut, of course, but the version we ended up with works fine.  It's just the 2nd half needed more shots of Britney.   I know she's playing the "other woman" but it also seems like she stalked this couple, mentally inserted herself in his life, because she was never with him at all.   :sippinbev:

Plus Britney has a huge impact so people might of followed in her footsteps to kill an cheating lover

first i was pissed when they removed the gun scene but when i saw how the media attacked Brit for giving her son a toy gun i totally understand and i'm okay with the released version of perfume

doubt it, a thousand school kids could be shot dead in one afternoon,and americans would still be out there, loving them guns y'all.

I definitely think that's why they took it out for sure. Idk if you all remember but when she was shooting the video in between takes she was wearing David's Virginia Tech sweatshirt and the paps caught the shot of her. A few blogs dragged her for being insensitive because VTech had a mass shooting recently and then couple that reaction to her in the hoodie fake shooting someone with all these little kids being killed it just wouldn't have been wise to move forward. Plus the concept was a little wonky from how Joseph khan explained it. And the song tanked. It was for the best in the end.
