Prince_Calvin Posted June 10, 2014 #1 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Today while listening to Blackout (as I do to some degree EVERY day), I was really listening to the vocals and I found myself confused. Back in the day, everyone said she sounded more metallic, processed, and produced than ever before, but I disagree. While she may not be singing anything that really employs/stretches her full vocal range, it still completely SOUNDS like her. (Except when it's done to exaggerated, cartoonish effect a la Freakshow, obviously). It's not until Femme Fatale that things begin to feel computerized, IMO. And then things just get confusing with the MM debacle on Britney Jean. (Perfume totally, undeniably Britney, Body Ache on the other hand…) :britneylazy: Anyways, my main point is I DON'T think the vocals on Blackout sound overly/very processed at all. Thoughts??
CIRCUS Posted June 10, 2014 #2 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I don't think so either. she sounds amazing in almost every song on the Blackout flawless album
blackoutbaby09 Posted June 10, 2014 #3 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I don't think it's overly processed at all. Especially compared to Femme Fatale. People just like to diss Britney.

Natooolee Posted June 10, 2014 #6 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I dont think so, especially not now with FF as a direct contrast. But you have to remember when blackout came out it was standing against BOMB OIDAD Britney and ITZ which are all very non-processed comparatively and if you didn't have all this new music and only had her previous works, it sounding processed makes sense. Regardless that album is fucking amazing. :dealwitit:
blackoutbaby09 Posted June 10, 2014 #7 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Myah Marie stans Ewww Flopah Shitrie. 1
M.E. Posted June 10, 2014 #9 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I think because Blackout was so fresh and different for Britney it seemed more overproduced back then than it does now. It actually has very little autotune, it's mostly just layering and a few other vocal effects like on POM.
Guest Lᴜᴠ3ɪ♥Hᴀᴛᴇɪ Posted June 10, 2014 #10 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Yes her vocals are amazing!! I think the only one that's processed the most is POM but it's still flawless
paula24bs Posted June 10, 2014 #11 Report Posted June 10, 2014 her voice is very edited in my opinion, but the difference is that who edited her knew what he was doing...it's not some bulsh*it a la alien with glitches, or body ache where you don't know where britney starts and MM ends...it still is with no doubt britney on blackout...
HeavenOnEarth Posted June 10, 2014 #12 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I dont think so, especially not now with FF as a direct contrast. ItsNathanbitch Posted June 10, 2014 #15 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I love her vocals on Blackout! Gimme More, Heaven on Earth, Get Naked, Break the Ice etc. Her voice sounded so strong and fierce in this album, which also helps it be one of her best albums imo!
Natooolee Posted June 10, 2014 #16 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Yh, i saw it lol What time is it in your country? 6:30 am hahaha

ste_shango Posted June 10, 2014 #19 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Britney Jean is overly and poorly processed. Blackout is HEAVILY processed but never too much.
Prince_Calvin Posted June 10, 2014 Author #20 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I dont think so, especially not now with FF as a direct contrast. But you have to remember when blackout came out it was standing against BOMB OIDAD Britney and ITZ which are all very non-processed comparatively and if you didn't have all this new music and only had her previous works, it sounding processed makes sense. Regardless that album is fucking amazing. :dealwitit: See, I think that Blackout vocals really aren't any more processed than her older albums. Like, no matter what, there is studio editing on every track on every record. I think what makes it open to interpretation is simply that the kind of music on Blackout is so different from everything she'd done before - the songs themselves are infinitely more electronic and not nearly as challenging to sing - which is why people shaded her over auto tune/computerized and that crap. If anything, I'd wager that BOMT and OIDIA are even MORE processed than Blackout, because there is a higher pitched/nasally aspect to the singing that really doesn't follow throughout her catalogue. I know she was young, and eventually started smoking…but the voice on …Baby One More Time is just a little too clean for reality - it's even missing that deeper, guttural, raspiness that you even get on Sometimes. Blah.
Ooh-Ooh Britney Posted June 10, 2014 #21 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I think the song itself is processed, I mean.. You can't listen to a single instrument, but her voice is cleaarly there
njcthree Posted June 10, 2014 #22 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Well without saying that rumor started by shitty people was ridiculous- but anyway - if you listen to Plastic (a you know who song) Myah does her Britney impersonation in it- and EVEN THEN you can clearly hear they have different tones! if you listen to a bunch of britney then go listen to plastic you can clearly hear they have two different voices- as for passenger- if you listen to some of the onyx hotel tour lives or my baby where Britney uses her lower register- you'll hear that some of the chorus on passenger is Britney going into her lower register and the vocals were manipulated. as for chillen with you (cause apparently that was being debated too?)- go listen to HAI demo- Britney sang that in her upper register- same exact voice! So can everyone stop with the Myah is on BJ shit- it's ridiculous- according to Universe- stems are leaking on the 19th of july and will prove myah isnt on any we have a fresh start here- lets quit it with this myah conspiracy shit - did you here- Myah killed Kennedy too!
