News Posted February 18, 2016 #1 Report Posted February 18, 2016 Happy 14th Birthday to the ‘I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman’ single! Let’s celebrate with some interesting facts about the video. When Brit was interviewed by seventeen magazine, she explained how she used to get a lot of fan mail from girls who were in that awkward in-between stage of adolescence. She wanted to sing a song that spoke of the angst and heartache of puberty. Britney joked that she called the song ‘Girman’ which is the in-between stage of girl and woman.Brit singer/songwriter Dido penned this track with the help of Max Martin and Rami. Dido who had a massive success with her song ‘Thank you’ – was known for her very personal and emotional approach to song writing. Britney had more introspective songs on her album, which suited Dido perfectly. Although Britney wrote 5 songs on her ‘Britney’ album, at the time, she claimed, that even though the song was written specifically for the character of Lucy in 'Crossroads', the song was one of the most personal tracks off 'Britney' to her. It just reflected who she was at that time of her life. The song was streamed over 2 million times in 24 hours of release on AOL’s music channel. There are 3 versions of the video, two showing clips from the ‘Crossroads’ movie and the other without. ‘I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman’ was released as the second single in the US and the third single in Europe. The song did a swap with Overprotected, which received a remix treatment for the US release, however Europe received the original version of both tracks.Britney declined a safety wire for scenes too close to the edge of the clip. Her management team were really not keen on the idea as it was not safe. Britney was completely up for the challenge and would not take no for an answer, she did not want it destroying the look of the video.‘’The wind started picking up a lot and almost dropped me over,’’ claimed Spears, ‘’And I was like,’Okay, gotta go!’’ Wayne Isham loved the fact that the video was completely natural and that no green screen was involved. ‘’She went out there and without a safety cable, just stood there with those cowboy boots on,’’ he said, ‘’She was standing on the edge in her cowboy boots, looking hot. We’d be right on the edge and she had not a blink of fear.’’It was claimed that the video was filmed almost a year before it was actually released. To put this into perspective, the video would be filmed before the release of ‘I’m A Slave 4 U’. This was later proven as very likely as the below photo shoot from the music video was released as promo for before the album’s release… ‘Smash Hits’ magazine released a poster of the denim jacket scenes in the car months before the debut. The music video won the award for ‘International Music Video Of The Year: Short Form’ on the 2003 Japan Gold Disc Awards.Let’s have a look at the video comparisons, there are quite a few major differences: And here are some deleted scenes: Here is the video in all it’s glory as it appears on Britney’s official VEVO channel. It would be a shame not to take a look back at one of our favourite performances of the track (and believe us, there are many.. Remember Oprah and Rosie O’Donell). Here is Britney belting out the track on ‘MTV’s: Total Britney’ – a full show dedicated to the queen herself. Happy Birthday In-Betweeney!Read it on our mainsite!</p>
