Isn't Amazing That Britney Rarely Is Photographed By The Paparazzi Nowadays?

I'm so, so happy for her. Watching the Amy Winehouse documentary recently really hit me hard and I couldn't stop thinking of what Britney went through in 2007 / 2008. Living life in the public eye can be incredibly damaging, and we saw how it affected Britney. People who complain about her maintaining a low profile now really should watch 'Amy' - seeing the jokes made, the invasion of privacy, the cruelty, and the toll it took.... I'm so happy Godney is now able to perform and enjoy herself without having to sacrifice so much personally  :crying1:  :crying1:

I wonder what changed though - because it's not like they have found somebody else to follow - there is currently no artist or actor etc who is being hounded by paparazzi the way Britney was, even before 2007 really - they wouldn't leave her alone.

Maybe new legal restrictions are in place in terms of them following/harassing people?

Maybe she has cut contact with people who were tipping off the paparazzi behind her back?

That's very cool for her, i'm sure it must have been hell when there was like 15 paparazzi cars behind her and in front of her house, and 24152425 paparazzi around her when she was going out.

But i believe the fact (besides that she's not really interesting for paparazzi anymore) that she lives in Thousand Oaks is a part of  it.

I mean most of the time when she's going out, it's still in Thousand Oaks , or just next to it like Westlake Village or something.

Compared to before when she used to go out in Los Angeles (or in the aera) almost everyday, now she doesn't very often, and i believe there is a lot more paparazzi in LA and it is also more profitable for them to photograph more celebrities there rather than waiting in Thousand Oaks to hopefully photograph Britney only going to the gym or Walmart.

Yes! I know we all bitch and moan about Vegas, but it seems that it's really given her the opportunity to have the slightly-more-normal life that she's dreamed of for a long while. So happy for her.

I'm really happy for her, that now she gets more privacy to live her life with her kids & not be watched or followed everywhere 24/7. she truly deserves the privacy after the hell the media put her through for so long :crying1:  I'm just glad she finally got what she always wanted. :)

The thing that made me forever HATE TMZ (although I should have already) was right after their TV show started, I was watching and they did a segment on Amy and she was clearly out of it, she was TERRIFIED and screaming and crying for Blake. And they went back to a shot where all the dumbasses are in a meeting in their office and they were CRACKING UP laughing and making fun of this woman who is SUFFERING and full of fear. I haven't seen Amy but I really want to.

Paparazzi videos were kind of my guilty pleasure, even though I thought that paparazzi outside of public appearances (like award shows) should be illegal. But seeing that particular reaction to that video cemented to me just how inhumane it all was.

In terms of why they leave Britney alone now- she's not super newsworthy. She doesn't cause trouble, doesn't dress crazy, doesn't say or do anything controversial. She'd probably get a little more heat on her if she got a new beau. Maybe. Or if she released something really edgy/successful. If she performed regularly (outside of Vegas obvs).

It's kinda boring lately to be a Brit fan, but if I have to be "bored" for her to be happy, I'm 100% okay with that.

And at the same time she's become way more open on social media, so even though we don't get that many paparazzi shots anymore we can still see what she's up to!

I want her to post recipes and stuff (even if it is accompanied by Googled pictures)! Did she ever post a Sweet Tea recipe?

I also want Papa Spears cheese grits recipe.

She should write a cookbook with her mom.  :crying5:

Cheese grits are easy, baby! I prefer sharp cheddar sprinkle cheese, just add it in after the grits have absorbed most of the water. I also like to put tapatio hot sauce in my cheese grits. ;-)

I was reading old Brit stuff recently and it mentioned Jamie had a restraunt back in like 05? That whole damn family needs to write a cook book together- Southern food is boss! tumblr_mdjelfgzBH1qejel4o1_500.gif

Larry Rudolph made a comment during IABJ that Britney was one of the first celebrities to be affected by online tabloids - it was one thing to have tabloids on paper but once the internet started with Perez Hilton/TMZ things got really bad.  I'm very happy for Britney that she doesn't have to deal as much with paparazzi as much as she used to and she can somewhat live a "normal" life and still perform and release music.  Well, "Normal" for her, that is.

Perhaps i'm not as up on celebrities as I was when Britney was in her prime, but who gets harassed like Britney did in her prime nowadays? I can't really think of anyone. Things have definitely changed and social media may have something to do with it - a lot has changed since Britney's prime - artist now have their own Twitter accounts, Facebook accounts, and share stuff with their fans on their terms - that could screw over anyone trying to make a dollar on a special picture/caught moment - also, they (celebrities) can defend themselves quicker if they want.  Just my opinion though.

I tried cheese grits one but I couldn't finished it. Too heavy to eat it or maybe I picked a bad recipe  :awkward:

I didn't know about his dad having a restaurant. I only knew about the restaurant Britney opened in 02, Nyla.

I'm here for "The Spears family cookbook"  :yas:

Before the paparazzi would stake out at and around her house, because she was almost always be guaranteed to leave the house and do something that could be at least turned around to look scandalous. Like she said in IABJ the paparazzi started to back off when she seldomly left the house for two years. Now Britney lives in a more restrictive area and when she does go out its very controlled and more so about getting to where she needs to be, and doesn't give them anything.

She also doesn't really do much for them to photograph. How many photos of her shopping at Target do they need to take before they become worthless? She isn't really a super interesting person when she's not "BRITNEY SPEARS". The main thing they seem to go for now is stuff with her kids because the media will still buy that shit.

Super happy for her, it's gotta be such a relief, I remember video of a pedestrian having to guide Brit's car out of a parking lot and through the sea of paps and the woman was yelling at them too, it was insanity!!
