It feels like the last time she truly reinvented herself was for ITZ leaving for completely the innocent/naive personality behind and starting to embrace her sexuality and showing herself more mature.

She really should change the game for this album if she wants to make some "noise". :awkwarddd:
She played too safe on the 3 past albums, imho.  :boring:
She had so many things to play with for Circus & Femme Fatale but she didn't take the opportunity...

I think she could attach the album to a concept and stick to it. Like, imagine a real Femme Fatale era, with red lipstick, fierce outfits and photoshoots, etc. That would be very interesting to see  :yaknow:

That's exactly how FF should have been. :crying1:

She could go for something mystical, like a fantasy, very dreamy.  :lips1:

She ruined the chances of both the femme fatale persona and the multicultural conceps (FF Era , FFT)

Those 2 would be great ideas.

I would love her to bring 90's back just like Madonna resurected disco with the confessions era

I don't know if she needs to "reinvent" herself, but she has to stop with everything being so cheesy, her music, her look, her MV.. I'm just asking for something more mature, i mean she's 34yo, you don't make something like PG at 34yo.

Also , it doesn't really have to do with the album itself but i want her to look interested and involved in her work. See her talking about her music, the concept of her songs, why she record that song, what it is about etc..  would be nice. I don't want her to be like her album listening party for BJ when Will.i.am had to answer everything because her answers were just basic and she couldn't develop anything as if she was bored to do this or didn't even know what her own songs are about.

She should and I hope she does.  I know she's only 34, but she can't keep singing about clubs, boys, and dancing.  Britney is always in a tough spot - her fans are mixed in age - some of us are getting tired of those types of songs and feel like that should be left to the newcomers  -  I need something with a little more depth from Britney this time around.  I don't want Miley Cyrus/Katy Perry type music coming from her anymore and I hope we don't get an album full of "Pretty Girls" and Will.I.Am crap from her.  (I don't hate that stuff, but it's tried and over).  I grew up with Britney - we were on point during ITZ, Blackout, and somewhat on Circus - FF was eh, ok - BJ was the same - she tried to do what I'm looking for but it was hit and miss for me.

I can't wait to see what she has in store for us - and pop music is in desperate need of a re-invention as it is - if anyone can be a trendsetter, it's Britney.  We need a new sound, someone to take risks, and stop playing it safe with these repetitive "club" beats that are a hit today and forgotten tomorrow.

I completely agree with this

I'm gonna answer this question but please dont bring threads from exhale on to here because this is exactly where this is coming from

Britney already reinvented herself twice .. During the Britney era & w/ Blackout. I agree with everything that Caroline said .. Britney doesn't need to really reinvent herself but her music. Britney definitely needs to stop playing corny and get with it . She's trying so hard to impress the younger crowd and it's clearly not working.. She needs to be herself and be more confident and outspoken. She's a fucking legend for crying out loud and she needs to know that. She also needs a step up when it comes to her image. The new costumes are good but she definitely needs a new glam team

This! It's time for the music to mature. Her personality may never change and I'm not asking for it to change but I'd like to see a more serious Britney when it comes to her projects - like how she was with ITZ but even more so. I'd like to see something a little more deep lyrically this time around....not just sex and clubbing.

Britney and her team needs to put on their minds she's not gonna get the support of the teenagers from this generation no matter what she does. They have their own idols like we had Britney back in time. She's not that "cool" anymore.

I know teenagers are mostly the ones who spend the most on music & make more noise and that's why they want to attract them but it's not gonna work with her. Especially not with that cheap and basic marketing behind that she have nowadays.

She doesn't need to do anything she doesn't want to do. In terms of a reinvention, I don't think so. Reinventions come off as disingenuous to me, why pretend to be another person or take on a persona to put out an album when you're just gonna drop it after the promo is over? She just needs to reconnect with the audience. The last 3 albums, her personality was missing and I think that's because she was under a "reconstruction" so to speak, she did have a breakdown after all. Maybe she's ready to put herself all out there again? All she truly needs is something engaging and unique for her that sparks interest.

And maybe she should pop up at movie premieres, SNL, more red carpets, a couple of industry parties, etc etc so people who are not her die hards can be reminded of who she is as a personality.

But we'll see what she does.

It seems B9's reinvention is already here.   Britney will be the ultimate sex goddess, we all fell in love with, but with a R&B soundtrack this time.  I'm good with this to an extent because this time around she's very convincing in her interviews, Instagram vids, and her revamped show.  But I'm definitely hoping for more substance than an album full of sex, club bops. I'm thinking it will be the latter, tbh, but I'm excited (and slightly nervous) either way.  :nailbiter:

  All of this.

I've expressed my unfavorable opinions about Britney Jean more times than I care to count, but what the album did get right was the overall focus wasn't in The Club while being an irresistible sex siren.  The more decent material showcased a more vulnerable and religious side that hadn't been present on previous albums so that was a welcome change put to music.

I mean there's nothing wrong with having songs about sex and clubbing because she's still young but songs like Pretty Girls ? That is so teenaged level. I think I would love a mixture of both Sex & club bangers & a deep mature raw side of her with out the whole auto tuned thing

She can most definitely get the support of the teenagers, she just can't be trying too hard .. A true hard will never exceed to expectations. She just needs to be herself & I can definitely tell she did this with B9 based on her interview

No, I agree - there's nothing wrong with it - I wouldn't mind a few tracks like that, but stuff like "Body Ache", "It should be easy", "Pretty Girls", just need to go.  I don't even hate those songs, but like I said, we need more now at this point in her career.

Body ache & it should be easy are actually good for a 34 years to sing (not that I like them) but a song like Pg just no

I'd like "It should be easy" more w/out Will.i.am and the dentist drill....that ruins it for me.  But yeah, NO to PG.
