“As we were gathering material for the album, however, I met with the songwriter-producer Max Martin, who had some songs he had written with his partner Luke Gottwald, better known as Dr Luke, that he wanted to play for me. He told me that because of his extensive work with the likes of Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, he had somewhat gotten a reputation for softer pop artists, and he wanted these songs to be done by rock artists because he was tired of being typecast.

why are u making this into something it's not? No where did he say he didn't want to work with Britney. If u read the article correctly, he said he produced some new tracks but only wanted it for rock bands because he had a reputation for softer pop artists. He doesn't want to be just a pop hit maker he wants to be known as a hit maker in other genres as well.

Make sure u read these articles clearly

That's literally not at all what it says :pieceofwhat:

Mte .. He's basically saying he had a reputation for softer pop artists, that's why he wanted his new material to go to a rock band so he could break out of that rep & just be known for other genres as well rather than pop

Y'all know that article is based off what Max said in 2004 right?? He'd had a dry spell and decided to go back to producing rock songs.

After Britney dropped Blackout and Gaga dropped The Fame Max saw that synth based dance music was where it was at and went with that style.

It has nothing to do with not wanting to work with Britney. He relocated to the US for 6 months specifically to produce for Femme Fatale, something he's never done for another artist.

Britney is not his biggest fan cause he pushes very hard for vocal perfection and Nasalney, something Britney finds hard/can't really do anymore.

All the Kesha mess with Dr. Luke aside, both he and Max Martin can write & produce great pop songs with female artists. I actually like that they care about vocals so much and won't accept anything less, tbh.  "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes" are awesome pop songs.

Anyways, like already stated, nowhere did Max say he didn't want to work with Britney.  I'm sure a track or two will appear on B9. But both Britney and Kelly have proven they can garner hits without either, but can the same be said for Katy Perry and Taylor Swift at this point?   :prettay:
