News Posted March 8, 2016 #1 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Happy 16th Birthday to Britney’s Crazy 2K tour. The tour was a continuation of her ‘…Baby One More Time,’ tour to support her debut album and also her follow up, ‘Oops! I Did It Again.’ The tour started on March 8 2000 and ended in April of the same year, before moving on to her, ‘Oops! I Did It Again Tour.’ The tour was sponsored by Got Milk? And Poloroid. The set list consisted of nine songs, seven from, ‘…Baby One More Time’ and two yet to be released songs from, ‘Oops! I Did It Again.’ The show was recorded and broadcast on Fox and a DVD called, ‘Live and More,’ was released. Backstage footage to the show was shown on, ‘The Rosie O’Donnell Show.’ Britney announced the tour on MTV’s TRL on 17 December 1999, alongside the premier of her, ‘From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart,’ music video. Britney announced that this would be a continuation of her current tour and also a prelude to her future world tour. The ‘Got Milk?’ media director, Peter Gardiner, commented on the reason for sponsorship stating, ‘Britney is magic with teen-age girls and that’s an absolutely crucial target for milk. Britney shot an advertising campaign that was shown before her performances began. Britney’s second sponsor, Polaroid released the ‘Polaroid I-Zone’ as the official camera of the tour. Britney used the ‘Polaroid I-Zone throughout the tour to take pictures of the audience to further promote the tour. The set of the tour was similar to the, ‘…Baby One More Time,’ tour, however it was a lot bigger. There were many special effects, including smoke machines and fireworks that erupted during the show. The screen was set to resemble a giant magical mirror from the 1937, ‘Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs’ movie. A magical carpet was also used, which set Britney 100 feet above the audience. Jae-Ha from the Chicago Sun-Times said that Britney, ‘’showed why she has a leg up on blonder competitors such as Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore,’’ claiming that Britney just had the ‘It Factor.’ Critics and fans praised the show. Britney was praised for her open approach to fans and spending hours chatting and taking photos with fans before and after the show.
