This is just my theory. But Britney has been recording for a long time now! I feel as if she had an album ready but scrapped it when Pretty Girls didnt do so good. The songs preobably had a similar vibe to it and so she probably started over and got really inspired. Its just crazy to think album is 80 percent done when shes been recording for such a long time!

Im glad this happened (if it did) because i know this album will be great.

It could be, but I also think that during 2014 and 2015 she took things really slow. Like, she wasn't focused on preparing songs for an album, she probably was just experimenting in the studio and it wasn't until maybe the second half of 2015 that she started to think about doing stuff for the album. This is just a guess, but I remember her saying something like "I'm always recording music", so to me it sounds like she just goes to the studio and does random songs, without meaning to put them together in an album.

I hope that what I said makes sense :orangu:

I think you're reading too much into it. PG was just last year's Ooh La La tbh

But remember yhe billboard magazine that came out right before or after pretty girls? She said she was already into recording by then :P

I think she recorded Pretty Girls without any real direction in mind; just a quick little single that she did for fun and nothing more than that. Had it become a smash hit, it's likely that Britney's team would have rushed her into the studio to create an album of a similar vein. Thankfully, the single flopped and she was able to continue experimenting in the studio, which will hopefully result in a stellar creation for B9.

She told VMagazine that she's been recording for a while and wants to take her time so I highly doubt she scrapped it because of PG. her team bullshitted Iggy because Iggy wanted the song on her album. PG was more of a buzz single. Even Iggy eventually found out it was a buzz single & she tweeted "maybe I should create a buzz single as well"

I just hope we get a single soon, I don't want to wait another year. We didn't get a proper era with BJ & Vegas was her primary focus. BJ ended before the album could even be released, so we've basically been waiting for 5 years

She said she was recording for a new album during her lingerie promo in 2014 tho, that it would be artsy fartsy and really special and big, she even also said there would be men hate songs etc..

Let's just hope is not the same with B9...  :4music:

Idk if it was an album but something was obviously cancelled that was meant to happen. They brought out the new branding on her website and on the uber cars and then they just dropped it, and she also took all the PG profile pictures off her social media

Yeah, you're right, but what I mean is that just because she's been working for a long time on the album doesnt' mean that she scrapped a project. The way I see it is that she's been taking her time, like, she knew she was working on an album but she didn't have a fixed idea of its concept, you know? She wasn't like "I'm gonna look for this type of songs and I'm gonna record them so I can release them at that time", she was just experimenting on the studio and working on stuff and it wasn't until maybe the second half of last year that she started to get serious about it, that's why we got the first producers names and the selfies with them.

Of course this is just me writing fan-fics, but idk, it just makes sense in my head :aintevenmad:

I remember how excited I was last year, you're right, it looked like they were preparing big and original promo plans but they suddenly stopped! It's weird  :disagreewitchu:

Exactly, I remember they even saying they were just focused on pushing out singles this time last year instead of a concrete album. So it's clear to see their vision and direction changes and accelerated especially if the album is "80% complete"

I don't know, imo Pretty girls was more like a test, to see the reception etc. if they could go this route for the album or not. Since it was a flop they probably scrapped everything, or most of it, that was like this song and focused on different genres.

I kinda believe the situation was like " if PG is successful then we keep every songs like that and release an album in the continuity, if it doesn't we continue working on it with other genres."

I just find it weird she performed the song if it was meant for nothing. She wouldn't have bothered performing it if it was just meant as a buzz single, lbr.

Yeah, that seems reasonable aswell, I also got the impression the PG was like a test, and I even thought that if it had succeeded we would've gotten an album by the end of the year or at least another single, but at the same time I feel like it was just something to keep her on the spotlight, an attempt to have a radio hit before the actual era started

It definitely won't be since she already has Vegas going on. It was tough with BJ because she was basically multitasking w/ BJ on one hand & Vegas in the other, & u know when it comes to shows those are the most important to promote so that ppl will attend. So hopefully we will finally get a proper era w/ up to 4-5 singles

THIS. I think they might have changed the direction after the Pretty Girls fiasco, and the album has now an edgier and sexier concept :thirsty:

She always said that she was taking it really slow this time.....it was well reported that PG was a single that was not attached to an album. I dont think she scrapped an 'album'.

she has in the past 3 times so far we know of, possibly 4 :mhm:

I thought there was talk of it as her lead single Iggy and a couple other people mentioned it asks the lead single to her new album, then it just died down. Maybe it was gonna be added to B9, then they made last minute decisions to change things. Idk. :mhm:
