I know this story but, what britney hinted with his image when she began his career, was that she was a virgin  :lips1:

It's truly disgusting how the media was so obsessed about her virginity.

Yes, but they were interested because Britney wanted appeared to imply that she was a virgin, but then your videos and the way she dressed sometimes did not match the image that she and her record label wanted to convey... plus that when they learned that she and JT were dating the press wanted to take everything clean... (sorry my english)

If I'm not wrong, It all started with the press asking her about it. I guess is also her fault for don't reply with something like: "My virginity is not anybody's business." or refusing to reply the first time they asked her about it. She once said she regrets have ever talked about it.

We all know if it were a male artist nobody would have been interested on its virginity...  :tea2:

Yes I remember seeing the videos in which she talks about it. In the video she said she was a virgin when she was asked this was the Oops era at a press conference and the video in which she said she was sorry to have talked about it was when she was promoting the film "Crossroads".

And yes, she should have said it was none of their business, but I believe she talked about it because that's what her record label sent to tell to generate controversy. And of course when it comes to men, no one cares about it, but if I'm not mistaken there was still a buzz around the Jonas Brothers when they came and used a "purity ring" and said they only think of sex after marriage, and now as we only know one of them got married and now the three are no longer virgins and Nick Jonas explores quite your sexual image with photos to grab the genitals and all.

Yeah, I agree.

She should have never been a label's puppet. Her life and career nowadays would be so different if she didn't let her label managing her like she couldn't take decisions by herself, IMHO.

I think one of the big problems from her personality(at least from what she has showed to public) is that she doesn't seem exigent at all and doesn't like to to confront anyone when she doesn't like something. It's like she finds too hard to say NO and say and do whatever she really wants.

I never understood the big deal about virginity.

I see it like another old fashion way to put labels on "people"(women) covered by religion(Well, religion is mostly about sexism so... :tea2: )

Yes but she wanted to be famous since very young and with 16/17 years she would not know what to do to be successful and so had to have people behind to treat this kind of things ... but she's not a diva and as she always said in interviews, she has (or had) always people around her that put in place with the feet on the ground, it is not like other singers that no one tells them no and are always kissing his feet and smiling ahead and then become unbearable divas who think they are bigger and better than everyone, so in that aspect I like Britney personality.

And sex and religion when placed as controversy generate interest and that in her case helped sell because aroused curiosity in people.

That would not fly these days. They asked teen idols weird shit back then. People still give her a hard time for saying she supported President Bush back in like 2002 when she was 19. Like, what do you expect from a teenage singer? Some long, researched persuasive essay?

You are so right about the publicity. Her handlers should have told her to not answer those questions. Eventually she did start saying "It's not your business" as seen in the Stages DVD

Well I have, as have many other people - it's well-known that those original DailyMail reports were pure trash. For some reason people keep posting them as if they're facts  :4music:  Those stories were completely made up.

Oh, Daily Fail. I remember reading a book by the editors of the National Enquirer that did say that. I don't think her Mom would lie, honestly. I don't think it would tarnish Britney's rep at all to tell the truth.

But who knows? I'm not the GP and I'm not Britney's vajayjay.
