Do You Think They Re-Negotiated The Ph Contract?

When she agreed to the extension for 2 more years, do you think a change in contract was negotiated? Not being able to perform outside Planet Hollywood really restricted all promotion for Britney Jean and if the same restrictions are still in place, will also hinder promotion for B9, which would be an odd thing for them not to negotiate out of.

I believe Larry said recently that she couldnt do concerts in America but she could do promotional performances.

Yeah I think they most likely did, hopefully we will get to see at least one promo performance for this new era.

She has the No. 1 show in Vegas so it's quite likely they negotiated a much better deal.

I'd say she is at least allowed promo performances and possibly ex-America tour performances but can't be sure.

 

Does anyone know if others have done tours while having shows in Vegas??? I know Calvin Harris signed an exclusive deal with Hakkasan in 2012 but still did a UK & Ireland tour in 2013 but don't know of any others.

My understanding of the original contract was that she's allowed to do any promo she wants, but while in Vegas she can only perform at PH & she can't charge for any other shows in the U.S. The reason she didn't perform during the BJ era was because she didn't have time / she didn't care.

celine was supposed to go on a tour in japan while she had her contract, but it was cancelled due to family illness

I know people just want her to come somewhere near their hometown but the more I think about it the more expecting her to perform outside of vegas makes no sense regardless of what the contract says she could do.

It wouldn't make sense if she was on a world tour to take a few weeks off to do a stand alone residency at some venue so why does it make sense that she would do the reverse? I do think she should (only if she wants to) perform at an award show or talk show or during an MTV special but only one song in all honesty. But from a branding standpoint (in terms of her "owning" the axis in a sense) it makes sense she remains exclusive in a sense to PH while the residency is going on.

Once the residency ends she probably will record it for a special so there's that. Plus once the residency is over it will be better for her impact in Vegas if she can say that she stuck with it all the way through and through. At this point I don't think she's shying away from performing outside of PH because of a contract or because of nerves, I just think she wants to uphold the integrity of POM by holding on to that stage. Who knows what she'll do for B9s promo but bet if she does any promo performing, it will be centered around POM.

I think the change in her contract the public know of is that she's receiving more money to perform. The rest no one other than Britney and her crew knows about. Like maybe the performance stuff hasn't really changed from 2013-2015 to 2015-2017 cuz she's still not performing outside of planet Hollywood even though she can in certain ways.

Her main business at the moment is POM and her next album will be serve as a promotion for this. And in some capacity, the residency will promote the album as much as possible but let's not forget POM is King and takes precedent at the moment.

 

POM/PH would be interested in her doing promo performances only if it's a huge one and only one, as To@@btmyhbrit99 was saying. To perform in 3 talk shows and 2 awards would diminish the star power of the residency. Performing at the Super Bowl, VMAs (only for her history with the awards) or one TV Special (performing only 2-3 songs) would make more sense.

 

Doubt her contract put these many restrictions. Is just her team being marketing savvy.

 

But again... let's wait and see.
