Is 40 weeks in a row to date and counting that the Billboard Hot 100 (the offical American ranking) is NOT dominated by an US artist...

It NEVER happened before!!!

The question and the hope at this point come spontaneously: Now that the new era is coming, will Britney Spears - the American Dream - break this recod in the US official chart with her new single?

If she will, is gonna be epic!!!!  :toxicwink:

I hope so :crying1:

Also I'm confused cuz that pic says non-US artists :gloria:

Yes, that's what she is saying.

For a record extending 40th week, a NON-US BORN talent has been at #1.

Never in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 - a chart ranked based on radio play/sales/streaming in the US alone - has US born artists been kept from the top spot so long.

No .. Britney doesn't really last long on the charts whenever she gets a #1

I think you missed the point here.

He isn't asking if she will break this record - she's US Born, so she can't anyways - he's saying, will she be the one to end this strike of non-us born acts at #1? Doesn't matter how long she stays are #1, he's just asking if she'll be the US act to dethrone all the non-us acts.

That's not the point he's making. It's been 40 weeks since a born in the U.S. artist has been #1 on the Billboard chart, which is in itself a record. When Britney releases "Make Me (Oooh)" all it needs is to be Number 1 for one week to break it.

Someone will take the #1 before Britney's single, though. If we're lucky it may be Drake with One Dance, which would mean another non-American. Hopefully Meghan Trainor doesn't get a #1 with that shit single No :zoomzoom: Britney's team would REALLY have to be precise with their strategy to get her a number one. We'd need stellar sales and great streaming for a full week to make it happen.

That's nice but my point still stands because the score bored is also based on the number of weeks a person has with their #1 on the charts. Even with the over all score board I still don't think she would beat it based on BJ & PG Alone but we'll have to wait and see

But the number of weeks has nothing to do with it. Even if she's #1 for one week, the trend is broken.

But that's the point I'm making ... Britney just came out of a flop era & as well as PG .. She'll probably make top ten but I'm not so sure about a #1 but I hope she does

But I also made my point when it came down to getting another #1 .. After the BJ & PG mess I just don't see it happening but I'm hoping she does get a #1. I definitely do think she will crack the top ten

Before looking at the #1 spot, if she could at least reach the top 10 first that would be amazing :blackoutsmiley:

I definitely think she will .. Releasing the single & video at the same time is huge! & im sure she'll probably have some radio interviews & a photo shoot and I'm even hoping we get a couple of promo performances

I think she can tbh, but the song needs to be good, especially if there's no promo besides the MV  :mhm:

Tho if it's premiering may 20th and IF she performs on the bbma may 22nd , this will definitely help, i hope.

Could be their plan with the single/Video/BBMA's - premiere the video, to premiere the song, the friday before the BBMAs.

If they did that - that would probably get us a #1 debut, and tie us with Mariah Carey for the most #1 debuts of all time.

but yes, I see One Dance coming for that #1 spot.

People need to stop.

Britney Jean was a flop at Britney's level, but compared to artists today, how music is selling - Britney Jean was moderate success. It was a Top 5 album, produced a Top 20 hit....not to mention, Pretty Girls & Work Bitch out peaked some of her most loved, most iconic singles, but y'all aren't calling them flops WHEN THEY ACTUALLY WERE... lmfao

I really hope she does! She can do it if she truly wanted to.

Her team needs to bump up the promo this era and make promo negotiations with RCA and other companies!!

Knowing Team Britney and RCA, they probably won't have any smart, strategic, plans to create hype, anticipation, and buzz around Britney and her single.

Unfortunately I tend to feel the same way. I think (AND I HOPE AND PRAY TO GODNEY) :Godney:  that if she does get a top 5 or a #1 that it will be cause the song and video are so HOT that the general public is super hyped up and excited and therefore buying the single.. like they were for most of the FF era or 3.. I doubt the singles success will have much to do with her teams (lack of) promotion..  :mhm:
