Welcome back to another edition of ‘Discover Britney,’ where we highlight Britney songs that were not released as singles. This way, you can share a song a week with people that have not yet had the chance to hear flawless tracks from Britney’s albums. Spread the word!

If you are an avid Britney stan, you will know that almost every track from a Britney album (in an ideal world) should have been released as a single. So many people have been deprived of some of the most timeless tracks and we feel that they should be heard. Join BritneyGalaxy on Spotify, where we will add one track a week to our ‘Discover Britney’ playlist. Your gym playlist is set for life!

DON’T GO KNOCKIN’ ON MY DOOR

This week we take things way back to the year 2000, when Britney released her second studio album, ‘Oops!.. I Did It Again.’ With Britney, Christina and *NSYNC absolutely dominating the music scene, the year 2000 deserves to be credited as one of the most defining music eras of all time. Listening to, ‘Don’t Go Knocking On My Door,’ you would not be mistaken if the song sounds a tad familiar. Most of the music being released right now, seems to sample the early 00’s, for example, Trainor’s, ‘No.’ This is nothing new though, music has been recycled for years, but only the best music eras make a return….

Another undoubtabley brilliant Max Matin masterpiece, ‘Don’t Go Knocking On My Door,’ screams single material, a perfect guitar intro, powerful vocals, strong ‘independent woman’ lyrics and music that was so deep fried pop, that no one could resist it! Looking back at one of the most iconic albums of all time, it feels as if the era ended prematurely. With only 4 singles making the cut, the album could have easily produced another 2 tracks, (with over 4 more to choose from) many which were cut to focus on Britney’s third, self-titled release. When it comes to POP albums though, they just do not come stronger than this. ‘Time is up..’ the perfect lyrics to start off this break up track. Britney reassures her former flame, they had their chance and she ain’t waitin’ around no more, the game is over. The song is strong, focused and completely in your face and if we were to hear this song in a club today, there would be an army of sass, 'in your face' hand gestures and plenty hair flicks on the dance floor. A song that makes every ex glad that Instagram never existed in the early 00’s… #strongerthanever
