News Posted June 10, 2014 #1 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Britney's personal makeup artist for the Gimme More music video (2007), Mikal Sky, talked about Britney in an interview on April. What project/job/client are you most proud to have worked on? One of the defining moments of my career was working with Britney. I was her personal MUA for the Gimme More music video and a couple of photo shoots. She had just shaved her head and was getting a nothing but bad press. She sabotaged the director by refusing to perform and follow the script. So, what we got was her dancing on a stripper pole with her friends. It was an honest and playful performance during a very rough time and I am proud of how gorgeous she was. Did she just killed the "funeral version" myth? Leave your opinion. BrianSpears Posted June 10, 2014 #2 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Hmmm, not sure. Pretty cool to know the pole dancing scenes were Britney's last minute idea though.
GotBritsBack Posted June 10, 2014 #3 Report Posted June 10, 2014 She shouldve followed a script. Or worked that pole more like a savage. 1
Lenore Posted June 10, 2014 #4 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Maybe! Why would this MUA have any motive to lie?
Pistachio Posted June 10, 2014 #5 Report Posted June 10, 2014 well you can tell that It was an honest and playful performance fuck scripts! Let pole be your friend 3
COCKy™ Posted June 10, 2014 #6 Report Posted June 10, 2014 i have more respect for the GM music video now knowing that it was her FU to her team's script.
Britnoy Posted June 10, 2014 #7 Report Posted June 10, 2014 She did exactly what she wanted and that's why the video remains iconic nowadays.
TimberQuake Posted June 10, 2014 #8 Report Posted June 10, 2014 She really did look gorgeous in that vid And I like that the video was all britney... No scripts just her
Pokémon Spears Posted June 10, 2014 #9 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I always trust Britney's ideas, you know? the Toxic video, and many others. But if Gimme More was her idea, that's pretty sad, because it wasn't the best. And is understandable, she wasn't on a good moment of her life, and the last thing she should have been doing is making videoclips or doing awful VMA performances, when she had a lot of things to fix first in her personal life. 1 2

I think she was trying to have fun and not be all symbolic and have the video just about all about the bad things in her life. Piece Of Me did that well. She wanted to let loose. The GM video remains flawless. 1
Brit_Love Posted June 10, 2014 #12 Report Posted June 10, 2014 She did exactly what she wanted and that's why the video remains iconic nowadays. exactly! one of my fave videos!

daniel_essr Posted June 10, 2014 #14 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I really like the "Gimme More" video. Yes, it is all her dancing on a pole but I absolutely LOVE her attitude there. The director's cut that leaked a couple of years ago is also flawless. 1

Piece Of Me did that well. She wanted to let loose. The GM video remains flawless. Piece of Me is even worse She wasn't on good condition to release any music video. Break the Ice animated video was the best decision they could take tbh. In 2008 she could have released maybe a video or two, like Hot as Ice or Heaven on Earth, or even Radar to make nicer the Blackout era, but they were already working on Circus, so. 3
toxicney Posted June 10, 2014 #16 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Gimme More is one of my faves so glad to hear it was all her idea

Natooolee Posted June 10, 2014 #18 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Its also possible the funeral scene went with the script she refused to follow so ultimately even if it was shot it wouldn't fit or make sense.
Dripping For Britney Posted June 10, 2014 #19 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I wonder if he got a peak of her pussy
Freakboi Posted June 10, 2014 #20 Report Posted June 10, 2014 I think the leaked version is the official Director's cut version.

If she had wanted she could have directed another MV like Toxic but she was at that bad moment of her life with a lot of troubles that she clearly just wanted to have a good time with her friends/dancers dancing and playing around without have to be strictly following a script and having to repeat takes. And the fact that her label didn't really let her go with her idea with the album/single I think it was more than fair that she ruined them the video concept.
javi_spears Posted June 10, 2014 #22 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Now I have another reason to love that video even more, it that´s posible tho
Pokémon Spears Posted June 11, 2014 #24 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Piece of me is flaw free. And also iconic It is iconic, as the worst Britney video ever 2

I applaud her attitude, but she should have not released anything instead of making that trashy video, and she should have waited some time before releasing anything in those conditions. 2
