Britney's personal makeup artist for the Gimme More music video (2007), Mikal Sky, talked about Britney in an interview on April.

What project/job/client are you most proud to have worked on?

One of the defining moments of my career was working with Britney. I was her personal MUA for the Gimme More music video and a couple of photo shoots. She had just shaved her head and was getting a nothing but bad press. She sabotaged the director by refusing to perform and follow the script. So, what we got was her dancing on a stripper pole with her friends. It was an honest and playful performance during a very rough time and I am proud of how gorgeous she was.

Did she just killed the "funeral version" myth? Leave your opinion.

I always trust Britney's ideas, you know? the Toxic video, and many others. But if Gimme More was her idea, that's pretty sad, because it wasn't the best. And is understandable, she wasn't on a good moment of her life, and the last thing she should have been doing is making videoclips or doing awful VMA performances, when she had a lot of things to fix first in her personal life.

I think she was trying to have fun and not be all symbolic and have the video just about all about the bad things in her life. Piece Of Me did that well. She wanted to let loose. The GM video remains flawless. :werk:

Piece of Me is even worse :mygawd:  She wasn't on good condition to release any music video. Break the Ice animated video was the best decision they could take tbh. In 2008 she could have released maybe a video or two, like Hot as Ice or Heaven on Earth, or even Radar to make nicer the Blackout era, but they were already working on Circus, so.

If she had wanted she could have directed another MV like Toxic but she was at that bad moment of her life with a lot of troubles that she clearly just wanted to have a good time with her friends/dancers dancing and playing around without have to be strictly following a script and having to repeat takes.

And the fact that her label didn't really let her go with her idea with the album/single I think it was more than fair that she ruined them the video concept.

I applaud her attitude, but she should have not released anything instead of making that trashy video, and she should have waited some time before releasing anything in those conditions.
