Britney Spears not only had mental issues that landed her in a psych ward ... she was a drug abuser ... so says the California Court of Appeals.

It's pretty shocking, but new legal docs filed by Britney's own team include a 2015 decision by the appeals court which lays out Britney's struggles back in 2007 - 2008 in graphic detail.

The trigger for the new docs is an impending deposition in a case that squares Britney against her former friend and manager Sam Lutfi. Lutfi's team is about to take Britney's deposition, and her people filed a motion to keep him out of the room. The docs Britney's people filed included the 2015 decision.

The Court of Appeals chronicled the drama between Britney and Sam. The judges say when Britney and Sam met in 2007 her life was in turmoil. She was involved in a divorce, a custody battle and estranged from her parents. The judges add, "In addition, she was struggling with drug abuse."

The judges say Sam advised Britney about "the importance of getting clean." Britney's family claims Sam was actually the one who fueled her with drugs.

According to the judges, Britney asked Sam to manage her, and he accepted with 2 conditions -- she'd let him assemble a team, and she'd stop abusing drugs. He also insisted on the right to use drug sniffing dogs to make sure she stayed clean.

The judges say despite Britney's promises, she continued to abuse drugs. It got so dire at one point Britney ended up sleeping in a parking lot. That also happens to be the day she lost custody of her 2 kids.

The good news ... after Britney's dad, Jamie, won a conservatorship, she stabilized and has become extremely productive in her career and she's become an attentive, caring parent.

This makes me so happy that she didn't end up like Amy Winehouse and so many other celebrities who lost their lives in the midst of mental instability and cruelty from the media. Britney's dad truly saved her life, and I'm so so happy to see Godney where she's at today - as a mother, as a performer, and as a human.

Slay a bit, Queen

Sam better stay the fuck away from her  :byebitch2:

What's not to buy? The judge in 2007 said the same thing. These papers were filed by her own legal team.

The judge, Lutficer, B's team and anyone else can say whatever they want.

I simply don't buy it.

I guess that's your prerogative  :awkwarddd:

I refuse to believe she was ever a hard drug user

It's very common not only in the industry, but also outside the industry with people who suffer mental illness as a coping mechanism. It didn't necessarily have to be cocaine - it may have been prescription drugs, etc.

Damn, sleeping in a parking lot, that's so sad. The important part is that she is in a much better place now, I can't wait for the day that this shit can finally be left in the past.

I have to say tho, I'm quite shocked that a lot of the comments on that story are on her side.

It makes me sad that these kind of news keep popping up from time to time. I mean, it makes me appreciate how much better she's gotten, but number one, it keeps reminding the GP of her dark period and it keeps giving them excuses to bash her (because let's be real, most people won't sympathize with her and they'll make fun of her instead), and number two, I'm sure she doesn't like to be forced to face those memories that she obvious wants to forget. I just hope she keeps going strong, I do think that she's found a way to be happy and cope with all that bullshit, but it still scares me that they won't let her heal :(

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that sam fueled her drug addiction. He was and forever will be the worse thing that ever happened to Britney, and I'm incredibly thankful her father saved her life. I hope Britney's motion to keep sam out of the courtroom gets approved, and she's able to win this case and finally put sam to bed. She likely will, because if I recall correctly there was no written agreement between the two of them.

If anything, I believe it was prescription drugs only that she was using and I wouldn't be surprised that what Lynne said about Sam crushing pills in her drinks or telling her to take them so she can see her kids, is true

*sigh* When will all this end? So she abused drugs, the big story here is how she overcame all that and has completely turned her life around. Many other people and artists have fallen hard into drugs and never been able to recover, Britney recovered and is now in a better place than ever before. That should be the focus of this story! I'm so proud of her! It would be awesome if she spoke publicly and told her story, but that's just not how she is and I respect that.

OMG I literally thought that the other thread was just a false tabloid but fuck this is definitely legit.. I feel so bad for her that she's being forced to do this. I'm also worried for her because Sam's lawyers are the ones that are going to be questioning her! She has major fucking anxiety .. She doesn't deserve to be going thru this again, it's like 07 will never go away and will continue to haunt her. This fucking pig is so desperate for money he doesn't give a shit! It's obvious who gave her the fucking drugs that dirty scum. I find it weird that he gets closest to the celebs that are at their lowest point hence Britney, Lindsay , & Amanda

Don't forget Courtney Love. And the numerous restraining orders from people prior to Britney

it was actually something we already know but she pass the hardcore drug tests ,I guess it's confuses us the term " drug" because meth is called as a drug and also analjezik is called as drugs. Britney was probably using insomnia  and mental medicines but that sad motherf*cker try to made her look like she was a hardcore drug abuser. I mean we would have pictures all over the internet because they were chasing her trough the whole 2007 and even to public bathrooms.

She was using it but Sam luthfi was the one whose giving them to Britney. Remember lynn's declaration?
