Welcome back to another edition of ‘Discover Britney,’ where we highlight Britney songs that were not released as singles. This way, you can share a song a week with people that have not yet had the chance to hear flawless tracks from Britney’s albums. Spread the word!

If you are an avid Britney stan, you will know that almost every track from a Britney album (in an ideal world) should have been released as a single. So many people have been deprived of some of the most timeless tracks and we feel that they should be heard. Join BritneyGalaxy on Spotify, where we will add one track a week to our ‘Discover Britney’ playlist. Your gym playlist is set for life!

BREATHE ON ME

If we were only allowed to have one (non-single) album track released as a video and single, we would firstly be upset that we could only choose one and after a few heated debates, we would probably settle on ‘Breathe On Me.’ 12 years down the line and this song is still a firm favourite by both fans and critics alike. The song is simply iconic.

Following an unfortunate injury on the filming set for Britney’s fourth single, ‘Outrageous,’ the release of ‘Breathe On Me,’ as a fifth single release was cancelled, much to our despair. The song is pure sex, there is no other way to describe it. 'Oh, It's so hot and I need some air,' tell us about it! Very few songs can get you hot under the collar quite like this masterpiece can, those sensual moans and signature breathy vocals take you to another world, any further and it would be entirely unbearable.

‘In The Zone,’ is an experimental album as a whole and, ‘Breathe On Me,’ is no exception. Written by Steve Anderson, Stephen Lee and Lisa Green, the song is influenced by a trip hop sound with Britney’s moans and heavy breathing adding to the songs composition, a fresh and experimental sound and a ground-breaking moment in pop music at the time. ‘Boy, don't stop, 'cause I'm half way there / It's not complicated, we're just syncopated,’ whispers Britney seductively, enough to make your mind explode. We fear to see your internal thoughts when you listen to this track with your eyes closed. Can you imagine how amazing this music video would have been?

‘Breathe on Me,’ has been included in Britney’s ‘Piece Of Me,’ Vegas residency following Britney's claim that this is in fact one of her favourite songs of all time. Ever since the iconic performance at ‘Rain Nightclub,’ during Britney’s ‘In The Zone And Out All Night,’ nightclub tour, we knew that this track would reach an iconic status and we were not wrong. ‘We don’t need to touch, just breathe….’ sung so passionately, you can almost feel the breeze...
