They Better Use Pre-Recorded Vocals For The Performance

Everyone is used to her lip syncing, I doubt anyone is expecting differently, nor will they care. I'm more concerned about the outfits and the dancing. I want her to kill it so badly. I've had to listen to my Beyoncé fans trip out the last few weeks, time for me to return the favor. I really hope they bring in a new costume for this other than the ones from the show, one that shows off her amazing body. But again, no one cares so much about the vocals, If she looks good and dances good, she could not move her mouth at all and I would be happy tbh.

It's not so much the lip syncing as it is the fact that it's being done with vocals that are at least 17/18 years old now - That's where the problem lies - it's one thing to do it in Vegas - and really, they could have at least tried to make it sound more live - but this performance, is really very important - not only is it being done because of the award, but this is the performance that's going to remind people of her past hits - she's been out of the public eye for a while - Vegas got some big attention when it was announced, but many of her well known singles are going to be showcased to people who may have forgotten them - I've been saying for the past 2 years that she needed to do something like this - this will probably help sell tickets - and watch her GH:MP start selling again if this goes well.  

 

So yeah, we all expect the lipping, but it might cause a backlash.  Times have changed - now it's more important to sing live (and suck) than perform and put on a show.  So, if Britney could perform her ass off with minor live singing - she'll be praised.

Again, that was with 2015 vocals though. We're talking about 20th century vocals here, even if she just pre-recorded BOMT and oops it'd be fine imo cus that's where her younger voice is most obvious

And this is where the actual problem is - lipping is one thing, but to do it with almost 20 year old vocals...well, that's not good.  The "PG" performance wasn't even as big of a moment as this is going to be - Britney's going to be getting an acievemant award, and part of the purpose of the performance is to advertise POM - yeah, we all know what were going to get when we go to Vegas (and even that's not really OK), but this is supposed to attract new people as well - it will turn people off who don't know she uses extremely old vocals during her show.  Is it really that hard to go in the studio and sing a verse and a chorus?

Even during her POM show, as ridiculously charismatic she is in person and how great the show is now, the lip-synching does take you out of it a bit.   (   This was me during "Everytime," for example.)  Her shows in Vegas seems to be made up of casual fans and in the section I was in (103) I overhead some questioning and wondering out-loud about her lack of live singing.  We as stans are conditioned but casuals aren't, despite Britney's name being synonymous with the word.  

 

No shade.   It's a bit ironic that Britney's dubbed the "Queen of Lipping" when she isn't all that great at it.  She never lips any of her ad-libs, she "sings" parts where her vocals aren't present, and as of late just stops mouthing the words altogether sometimes  .  Now Janet Jackson is the real Queen and has mastered the art.  I think Britney has actually given more live vocal performances than Janet has.  But Ms. Jackson's prerecorded live vocal tracks are great and she is so convincing while performing with them -- every single breath inhale, vocal tick, pause, etc, is synced to perfection.

 

A newly prerecorded vocal track is the least Britney can do, if she's not going to sing the songs when left to her own devices at least give us the full illusion.  I'm praying that is the case for the BBMA's, because studio enhanced vocals could potentially put a damper on what is going to be a big night for her.

It's Britney Bitch. She lip syncs to old vocals and always has. If you don't like it find another pop star. I'm here for stage presence, attitude, and sharp dance moves.

Mte. Even if she's slaying she better not come on stage with old cd vocals especially if she'll use her usual POM choreos. Like, show that you put some efforts in this at least, especially when you dare to call yourself a perfectionist.
