Is this happening to anyone else? I've had the game installed for months (I'm in Australia) it has been updated but it just won't move past the loading screen?

 

ive uninstalled the game three times, restarted my phone and nothing. So annoying because I actually like the game.

Before you uninstall next time make sure the game data and cache is completely deleted off your phone. Delete game center(or whatever it is on Android if that's what you have) data. This would of course make you restart the game, so unless you're willing to do that don't try this!

Make sure to restart your phone after uninstall (which you have already been doing).

Also talk to the Glu people on their forum. If you've made any purchases, make sure you can restore them.

The game servers are fucky right now but if it won't get past the loading screen it's more likely there are left over files somewhere on the phone prohibiting the new install from loading correctly. I have had this issue on other games before.

 

But yeah, at this point if you get past the loading screen it's 95% likely it will just say "connection lost".

The problem is there for people who have the newest version as the first install on their phone like me, so it can't be left over files on the phone.

That's not how that works. If a game updates, sometimes files corrupt or there are unexpected  conflicts with game data. Updates to software often break previously working versions. If simply uninstalling and reinstalling said program doesn't work, often the fault lies in older files remaining on the device.

But how can old files be on your phone if old versions were never installed on the phone to begin with?

When I got the game, it was the current version, so no update=no old files.

EDIT: Since it has been confimed most(all?) servers are now down, wait until that is resolved to try all these things. Unless the server resolution fixes it, in which case- YAY!

 

Here is an Android walk-through of the steps I recommended. The fact that the app was previously working has no bearing on the situation, other than that it narrows down the possibilities of where the error lies. If you are one of the only people with a broken app after the update (ie it worked for most people) there is an issue waiting to be resolved within the phone and the data on your phone.

NOTE: Since you have already deleted the app (and reinstalled) my advice would be to 1) delete app 2) delete cache and data 3) restart phone 4) reinstall app

Assuming you're still running your initial version, let me help troubleshoot:

1) It's possible your specific server is down

2) where does the game stop working? Login? Loading?

3) Is your phone OS up to date?

 It worked fine till the servers were down now, I was just saying this problem had nothing to do with old files since the problem was there for people who only just got the game and therefor had no old files on their device.

That's a definite possibility. My server has been wonky, yours could be completely down right now. Since fuckoffloverboy's app seemed to stop working after update and is stuck on loading screen (he did not mention there being a server error popup) it's best to troubleshoot the bones first, since they have already uninstalled anyway.

 

That's just what I would do. When I had server errors, I had error dialogue.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend waiting until the server issue is resolved to work on everything else! Lol
