I think it's more the Prince Tribute, then the Madonna aspect.
However, it is the first time she's appeared on an Award Show for a performance in quite some time, so I could maybe see the hype.

Mm, just last year she performed at the Grammy's, the Brit's and the iHeart Radio awards :oshit:

I just didn't think that she was an artist that people found interesting anymore, especially considering that a lot of currently popular artists are on the poll aswell, but it's nice to see that the established icons are still respected!

Well, the only one i'd consider a major award show is The Grammy's, but I suppose the Brit's too. haha

I think the death of Prince has really reminded people the fact Madonna & Cher are the LAST living iconic pop performers left. 
From  before the 90's and the new decade and such.
