While you're complaining about the setlist, you're all missing the big picture - our biggest enemy this era is...

Planet Hollywood.

Britney's performances are all contracted to be in Las Vegas, or on the pre-recorded stage  in the Axis Theatre at PH.

PH is deciding the setlist for her promotional performances. Remember that.

ILR&R, BOM, and TOMH were only part of the BBMA's because they've gotten good reception from the general public, not just the fans.

This is why fan favorites, such as Gimme More, were ignored.

Meaning ANY and ALL  promotional performances, award shows, or even Good Morning America, they will all be to promote Planet Hollywood.

Prove me wrong :queenflopga:

As if the general public actually recognized those songs...

This is all Britney's idea. Those are her favorite songs; she's revealed that in several different interviews through the years. That's why she added them to POM 2.0. And that's what she wanted to show to the world. They say better late than never, and that's alright, but ILRNR should've been performed in 2002, Toxic in 2003, BOM or TOMH in 2004, Womanizer in 2009 and WB in 2013 or 2014. This medley was basically a retroactive performance for all the awards shows that should've had happened in the past. And it's fine, although I believe this wasn't the best time to do it, but at least it wasn't the Super Bowl or something. But anyway, it totally screams Britney's idea.

But even if your theory is true, we would've had "Vegas promotional" performances since 2014. And in a few years, when B9's lead single comes out, it will be added to POM, so it would work as a promo for PH, according to your theory. So I don't see why it would be seen as an enemy as long as she keeps promoting. (I still believe the biggest "enemy" is Britney herself not wanting to perform, or believing she doesn't have to, on TV shows and such).

I never said Breathe on Me wasn't a bad idea. Neither was tomh. But ILR&R? 2h3y152.jpg

But here's the thing - Vegas is a tourist trap. They're going to get the tickets sold anyway. If they have unsold tickets for Britney, they will literally have people stand on the street and try to sell the tickets. Regardless, they're going to get as much revenue from just the Vegas show itself. They don't need to pay for promotion, they already meet their revenue. They just want to make sure that if Britney does any performances, it's promotion for Planet Hollywood, because she is contracted to their show.

The evidence being

  • The setlist is from the show.
  • The setlist is picked of songs that had mostly positive reception, including BOM and TOMH, which are fan favorites, and Britney's favorite, but cannot be classified as a "Greatest Hit", which is what we were promised, because it was never a single. (Although we can probably just look over this, everyone knows BOM slays.)
  • The studio version of the track they used sounds almost identical to the Vegas version of the song used show. (In fact, I'm wondering why there's no fanmade studio mix yet????)

how planet hollywood is our enemy??? because of ph we still have a chance too see our queen perform every week and look flawless.

if was a right thing to promo vegas because that is where the money is....we about to have the new era and she gonna add more song to the show.

i'm pretty excited.

sometime i don't quite understand this fanbase.

:goodside:

Because they're going to make sure B9 is not going to have promo, just like Burka Joanne :queenflopga:

They at least gave us the BBMA's so we'd shut the fuck up about promotion this era. After Brenda Jean, I'm pretty sure they were deadset on making sure we got at least  ONE promotional performance. But due to "technical difficulties", Make Me wasn't added to this medley. Meaning this promotional performance was strictly for the Vegas show, not for Make Me, although it will help boost its sales when it drops.

Edit: I'm giving you a fair shot even tho you only have two posts :queenflopga:

The only problem here is Britney's management. They're making more money with POM than with a tour or an album so of course they gonna keep promoting the show everywhere she goes. In the end, it's all about the money.

I liked the performance, Britney did amazing but the setlist, the fact that was a preview of POM show and they lied to us saying it was a greatest hits medley when it wasn't is what really didn't let me enjoy it 100%.

I think her management may have improved on what the fuck they were doing since BJ, so I still blame Planet Hollywood.

Actually the contract was supposed to say that she couldn't perform in Vegas unless it was at Planet Hollywood (that's why last year's performance was pre-recorded) but since this year's was live it must mean that her contract was changed or something! If she could do this performance I'm sure she'd be able to perform in other places if she wanted to, we'll lhave to wait and see if she does :uhhuh:

I'm really happy with the medley setlist, for so many reasons:

  1. It was somehow unexpected, except for the leak, of course.
  2. It's great that Britney doesn't rely on her previous hits to keep the audience happy. It says a lot about her as a artist.
  3. It shows how she doesn't give a single fuck about anything, and we all love that side of her.
  4. She left behind her biggest hits and performed two trip-hop influenced filler tracks from an album released 12 years ago instead; and also a cover that got her really bad critics back in the day. I don't think many artists would be bold enough to pull something like that. Plus she got to sing about masturbating while doing backflips and hairflips, and fuck a giant guitar like it was her job, so no... I didn't miss BOMT or Oops.
  5. She gave the audience a taste of what's to come, considering her new stuff apparently is going to be similar to BOM and TOMH.

Move on  :byebitch2:

I hope the setlist shows where Britney is at artistically with the album. You got your dance hits, your sensual mid tempos, your rock inspired songs (which we all know Britney wants judging from the bonus tracks and leaks the last 8 years) etc. and overall a collection of styles that represents her.

If it was PH's idea then she'd have been walking around the stage doing nothing the whole 7 mins, since that's all they ever include in their promo videos. :frenchy:

You could be right, but I believe she's only allowed to perform in the state of Las Vegas. 2vmvjog.jpg

Explain Womanizer, Slave, Work Bitch, and ILR&R :pieceofwhat:

Why do you keep insisting that ILRNR is PH's idea? If it was, it would have been on the first POM show. Every Britney fan knows she likes those types of songs and she visibly enjoys rocking out to it. Slave is one of her fav songs from the Britney album (Boys being another) and is a huge hit for her in the GP eyes as well as her iconic choreography so why is that a problem? Womanizer is most likely for the breakdown which everyone lost their minds to when they saw it, and WB is a great intro song. The only song I think she would have picked out is WB. Maybe Womanizer. But the others are definitely her.

Yes it's a collection of her PH show but if she hadn't been involved in the choosing, you would have gotten BOMT and TTWE at the very least.

:frenchy: no. That set list was all Britney. Of course she performed her Vegas set list, that's what she has to promote right now. You're basing your make me oh theory off rumors and speculation. Show me where it says in her contract her performances have to be in Vegas/pre recorded. I'll wait.

I'm here for Break the Ice tbh :queenflopga:

But I would have survived with TTWE. The beat mix of oops with bom made me wet tbh :queenflopga:

Womanizer is boring, but I'm here for that breakdown. But other than that, it's kinda just... There.

And work bitch was too short 1zyfts8.jpg Wayyyyy too damn short.

It's almost like they wanna forget about it now, which is sad, cause it's such a smasha :queenflopga:

But they ignore other smashas like hold it against me 2h3y152.jpg

Slave just felt kinda boring. But the choreo was hot. 15h6y9.jpg

ILR&R because it hasn't been performed since DWAD, and it's unusual to make a come back, since it didn't have much fan demand, like Overprotected, or Inside Out, but they'll bring back fan-favorites like Breathe on Me and Touch of my Hand. 2h3y152.jpg This is where I believe it ties with PH getting more money via contracts between the original artist, the record label, etc. Just like how My Prerogative hasn't been performed because Bobby Brown won't let it happen, even tho we want it to tbh 2h3y152.jpg

As for songs Britney herself likes, where the fuck is DLMBTLTK? 2h3y152.jpg

  • Make Me wasn't added to the show due to technical issues.
  • Technical issues could very well be contract negotiations.
  • As Britney releases new music, stuff has to be worked out with PH.
  • What part of this do people not get this?
  • And quite literally, it says in her Planet Hollywood contract, (or at least it did :pieceofwhat: ) that she had to be restricted to the state of Nevada.

All of that is speculation! Robin said we were getting a single then when he was wrong he said technical issues. No OFFICIAL source has said anything about a single, so any talk of it is a rumor! She was "restricted to the state oi Nevada" for PAYING shows, like tours. She can PROMOTE outside of Vegas.

Okay, I can give you that about "Make Me", if that's the title, which I hope to fuck it's not anyway 15h6y9.jpg

And she can promote* outside of Vegas, she cannot PERFORM outside of the state of Nevada.

She can promote via her social media accounts. That's about it. She can sell her perfumes worldwide, but that doesn't have anything to do with her music or her Planet Hollywood contract.

See where I'm going with this?

I'm kinda faded, I don't wanna argue 2ho9vfk.jpg
