Why Britney should wait till the 2017 VMA's to perform...

So, since the BBMAs, i've noticed alot of VMA discussion. Though, personally, i think she may attend & keep up her award show appearences (she's attend every major one this year mostly), I do not think a performance is likely, as she performs the  night before in Vegas, and is only off for 3 days. I also think it's a good idea that she wait, and do it perform the following year.

Although Britney has received the VMA's highest award, and attended the VMAs many times since her breakdown, and infamous last performance....she has yet to perform...and 2017 is the year she should do it, because it will mark 10 years since her last performance, and the hype/promotion around it would slay  the world 5x over the BBMAs, especially if New Music is involved. Not to mention, if 2016 is the year she releases all her new music, that means 2017 is the year for her nominations, and how lovely would it be to see her be presented with some awards, and then perform.

On top of that, it is also the final year of her Las Vegas contract, at least as of right now, and it could mark a major change in her career, and kick off a brand new album, or single (if they go a GH's set). 

In an ideal, dream, perfect world? MTV waits till a week before the show to announce her performance, she attends, walks the red carpet, presents an award, wins several awards for her 2016 musical releases, and she closes the show with a 15 minute medley performance of her TRUE Greatest Hits, as well as a brand new single never performed.

The last time she performed on an european award ceremony was in 2008

Girl u don't know what your talking about. Britney's BBMA performance this year was her biggest comeback solo performance since the 07 VMAS. There's no need for her to wait another year just for hype that's just ridiculous, the hype for her would be gone by then if she waited that long. She could very much do the VMAS this year & there will be hype. The more performances she does the more talked about she will be and the more the GP will focus on her. As u can see Britney's BBMA performance is still being talked about so she's definitely good. Her last show is on August 27th & the VMAS is on the 28th & she returns 3 days later. She only does 3 shows a week so she will have plenty of time to prepare for the VMAS if she wanted to do so

It's the biggest award show overseas, other then The Brit Awards.
It would be AMAZING promotion if she went and performed there, in terms of international promotion.

Lmfao. If she decided to perform on this years show, I would not complain at all, especially if everything I imagined above happened.
I just don't think it's likely...and I think waiting a bit, for the 10 years mark, would help with whatever they have planned. 
Heck, she might chose to do it to support Vegas as she announces an extension or something, ya never really know.

I'm not acting like I know it all, unlike you, i'm just saying how i see it, and from my perspective. 
Truthfully, i'm secretly hoping that a VMA performance is the reason the "single was delayed due to technically difficulties"

Agreed.
It's also why I want her to perform on the the MMVAs this year. It's going to be re-launched as the "IHeartRadio MMVAs" this year, and it's been 17 YEARS since Britney performed at the Canadian Award show. I think it would be so amazing if she did it. It's an outside award show, though it could possibly happen at the Air Canada Center or Rogers Center this year & be inside. 

let's hope that her award show appearance streak keeps up!

youre the only one that cares tbh otherwise someone else would've said it. No one really talks about the EMAs tbh. With award shows out here in the US everyone cares worldwide about it

I think "Hype" is the wrong word but it would be symbolic and sentimental as well as bring this whole era in her life to a close and solidify the comeback.

I agree with you and I hope that's what she does. I doubt she would do it this year because she wouldnt get much more from the VMAs then she got from the BBMAs in terms of press love. It would be a great way for her to wrap up the 10 years from 2007 to 2017, bring it all full circle.

And on a general note, I feel like Britney, while she does have loads of international fans, is at this point more of an American act so her appearances mean more here in the states then overseas which is why the VMAs are a bit more significant. Her appearing at the EMAs or the MuchMusic or whatever, while it would smart for her and she definitely should attend, doesn't hold as much weight to the comback in then long run and it definitely doesn't complete the narrative as well as her performing at the VMAs would. She's one of the artists who helped make that award show a must watch thing and tbh ever since her and the other artists who came up with her stopped appearing as often the show went downhill. The EMAs and so on are the same without her, the VMAs are not and that's because she kinda completes the stage for them. I hope that makes sense.

that's not the point of this thread boo. I meant more along a Greatest Hits compilation. besides, something like the BBMAs, but at the VMAs, longer, and a live ballad to open, would be amazing.

Not trying to argue or else but i think it'd be really cool. I mean, the thing is dat she actually does promo this time  I think that's the most important thing. Then we'll see how sales go but...  

I'm not a big fan of EMAs tbh, i just watched one (can't remember which year tho)  I think it was 2007 one, since she had won an award for Piece Of Me video, correct me if i'm wrong... and ofc the flawless performance from '98 of BOMT/Crazy which is, hands down, one of her bestest performances ever

Sorry - I have to disagree here - the EMA's are huge for the entire world besides for the states. I would not be surprised if it is watched more than the VMA's in Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia.. 

 

Like the Eurovision is not massive in the states - but it is massive in Europe and has more viewers than any show.. 

 

I love the VMA's and the EMA's they used to be my highlighted events - not so much recently.. but they used to be the main ones.
