Las Vegas Sun: Katy Perry following in Britney's Vegas Footsteps

According to the Las Vegas Sun Katy Perry has been offered a sort of mini-residency in the AXIS theater where Britney performs PIECE OF ME.

 

The show would take place during Britney's hiatus between the 100 shows (i.e May-August); the news comes after Katy performed for a group of execs/high rollers during the NYE weekend

This might not be completely Britney related but it goes to show that Britney is still impacting the music industry - she made history with her residency and despite many people doubting her legacy, she's setting a new trend and receiving amazing reviews at the same time!

 

I don't think Katy's show would be as successful as Britney's - she doesn't have the catalog for it or the stage presence to carry a residency.

That's what I was thinking, she starts her tour this year so I don't know how could she manage to do it, but who knows, maybe it's a good promo plan

I've just checked and she has already announced some dates for her tour, it starts in May on the UK so I don't know, I guess the Residency won't happen, will it? haha

TBH i think this could work for Katy, I mean, since she started have had and is still having hits, and it's not one song from each album, every single is successful. 

 

Plus she puts a lot of effort in her tours, with costumes, props, colors, dancers, etc so I see it being an amazing show for vegas if this ends being true.

I mean she would draw in more children/parent combos than Britney FOR SURE

 

But for me, she lacks a lot of stage presence & dynamism - and even vocally she sometimes leaves a lot to be desired - her tickets would have to be pretty cheap I think

This seems to be just a guest stint and not any real time. She pretty much has a massive album and 5 other songs that means she can't do anything to keep things fresh. She'd be able to do her new stuff as a guest though.
