Bored (positive) speculation on album/single "delays"

So I know it's been said that the "technical delay" was G-Eazy. I don't know who said it originally, but it's probably at least partially true.

But according to Jamie Lynn's Insta, she has something (probably her single) coming out on the 24th. Britney being who she is, do you think it's possible that they finished their albums around the same time and Brit decided to let her sister release first?

 

It seems like something a big sis like Britney would do.

 

Either way, I'm glad to be getting some new Spears music in the next week!

u might want to rephrase that thread title or else people are going to think otherwise lol but to answer your question, I doubt it had anything to do with Jamie Lynn. It's not like she's going to make it on the charts anyways lol

No one ever said that there would be music this week or even next week. I doubt it. Just be patient. When it happens it will be great.

I wasn't being impatient tbh. I was just saying, if there was a delay (which I thought had been confirmed? That the single didn't come out when they originally planned?) that maybe it was just Britney being a cool big sister.

I wasn't talking about the charts- JL is country anyway so it's a different chart, right? I just meant maybe Brit wanted to not steal her thunder. Britney always said Jamie Lynn would be a bigger star than Britney is. Obviously that didn't and won't happen, but I know Britney is super supportive of Jamie Lynn's dreams.

 

It was just a theory, a fun speculation instead of the THREE posts we have now questioning whether Britney can sing anymore...

Britney isn't the one who decides the release date, it's her label. I mean sure they'll see with her availability and all that but they don't care about her country sister releasing an album. Plus as BlackoutEgo said, it's not like if she would chart anyway.

Yea I get what u mean lol... But what I'm saying is that there's no way she would be stealing her thunder, jamie is not gonna be talked about as majorly like any artist does

She's right tho.. Labels have input on when things should get released as well as single choices.

It's not sad it's business. It's RCA records, not some independant label with 3 unknown artists signed. Imagine if every RCA's artists would get to decide when to release something because of their feelings towards their family members or whatever ? Just no lol. Sure they have talks with the artist (the team at least) but that's it. Labels are the one who choose what would be the best options -especially when they are the ones who invest money in promo and things like that- and have the final word on this (just like they can decide to scrap something if it's not right to them, or if it flops too much and it would be wasted money to exploit it etc.).

To answer you, no I don't think it has anything to do with Jaime unless the label is trying to avoid the distraction of having both of them promoting at the same time but since they are not in the same genre, or on the same level I highly doubt it. I'm starting to think the only thing about the album that was delayed was just the filming of the video and the release of the first single because of the video's delay. I say this because it seems they're moving ahead with "private show" which is probably the 2nd single.

 

The only artists I can see her label pushing releases back and forward for is Christina and only because the press had such a field day with them being "rivals" back when they started that the two of them and their teams probably try their very best to keep them distant in the minds of the media just to avoid the inevitable dumb ass questions; and JT to avoid the awkardness and also the dumb ass questions. But they would only do this if they felt that all 3 of them were putting up noteworthy music that would compete with each others releases. If Christina's next album is as bland as the last two or if Justin takes another thousand years to finish an album then the label probably wouldn't care and then will just release based on when they felt it worked best for britney, her show and their bottom line.

Well I didn't mean it like that... I more meant Britney wanted to let JL feel like it was HER moment. I never meant to say JL was competition for PR or charts, rather that Brit would completely overshadow her. I realize how unlikely it is but I thought it was a sweet notion.
