Does GP care about leaks?

Does the GP pay attention to leaks? The fanbase follows them like bloodhounds, but is the GP paying as much attention? Is the hype worth it in terms of sales (going on the HUGE assumption that Brit's team is controlling the leak). Are the mini-leaks going to affect sales negatively?

I remember rumblings of ANTi and Lemonade leaking but I couldn't be bothered to even listen until the official releases happened, because I don't give a shit what half-finished Rhianna or Beyonce sounds like.

Just wanted to know y'all's thoughts.

See, that was my thought. And I don't think listening to leaks is detrimental- no matter what, even if I hate a song, I'm gonna buy it. I own any music Britney has ever released.

Absolutely not,that's why this fanbase needs to stop worrying so much about it. Other than gays on forums and social medias,no one cares about leaks.

This will not determine the success of the song,if the song is good the GP will simply hear it when it drops and will buy it.

And if it's about not ruining the surprise,just ignore it.

Honestly, it seems leaks get more hype than actual releases, if you ask me.

The general public is more curious when they read the term "leaked" rather than "released on iTunes".

 

But that's my opinion  and no one listens to me.

Same here .. The song is cute but I wasn't really feeling it. They said it was mid tempo & leaned into hip hop but I feel like we got more of a ballad

No, the GP don't know about release dates or upcoming singles generally. I doubt they'll hear it until the video is on YouTube and the song is on the radio, so we're safe

i have some friends who don't even know when Britney has a new song, after them being out for weeks,and I have to play the songs for them.

Nope, I think the days of worrying about leaks hurting an era are over. I think it's mostly just the stans that feel like there is some sort of damper put on the song when it leaks, but to everyone else, most don't care or notice. I know there are many times big artists have singles or albums leak early and unless I'm a huge fan I don't bother seeking it out. Most people have so much other music to keep them occupied until the official release. I have no worries about these Make Me leaks, even if the full thing comes out in the next few days.

I think what's more of a problem nowadays is taking long breaks between releasing internationally... like with Carly Rae's E•MO•TION getting released in Japan almost 2 full months before the worldwide release. That was just stupid.

 Not usually a hit is a HIT  leaked or not . If people like it it will be purchased , requested etc regardless .
